The door stop has a textured rubber pad on the bottom which does a lot to help it not slip. I tried it on our door several times and worked great everytime! Going to order one for my daughter who lives by herself, hopefully she'll use it!! **Q: Is there a way to position this so it will work in a sliding door track?** A: Not sure. I use mine beneath the doors. The door stop alarm needs leverage beneath the door which will provide the needed resistance to activate the alarm which a single panel door provides comfortably. If the sliding door provides that kind of leverage then yes. However I don't think they do. But if one can secure enough resistance for a forced entry then the door stop alarm should be placed in the most likely spot where the resistance can occur to set off the alarm. Sometimes you would need to create that resistance by using another device to assist. **Q: I tested the alarm and switched it off but when I switched it back on it continued to alarm. Has anyone had this problem?** A: I tested them right out of the box, never had this problem. Maybe check, and I'm sure you have, if the Plate works well and is not sticking, and be careful when you turn it on, you might press the plate and not realize it, I know I did. It's very sensitive. Good luck. Because they take 2 9Volt batteries. Who keeps 9v batteries on hand? Not me! Can’t use them right away because I need to go get batteries.
