Acorn is a notable brand but they are made in China, not Maine, to be clear. These are super comfortable and the pair I received were well-stitched and sizing was symmetrical for both socks (some reviews note that theirs seemed irregular or poorly made.) They are meant to go up mid calf, which they can, but as a female with normal legs ordering the L (for women’s size 11-12) these were definitely pretty tight up the leg, plenty of room and width in foot area. So on a man with normal to thicker legs, I would assume these would too tight to even put your foot in. I just cuff them and they’re fine for me, but it’s worth noting. Were correct in lengthusing the Medium size. My foot usually needs a 10-11 size women's slipper. Originally, I bought the Wool Ragg and they were way too tight to fit over the foot and ankle.
