As a huge tequila fan, I first tried this when out for drinks and was obsessed.Beautiful complex flavour that is lovely on its own sipped on the rocks as a long drink / cocktail.

I'm no tequila aficionado by any means, but I've tried my fair share over the years. An Anejo (aged) type tequila isn't usually my go to, but I was intrigued by the sound of this little ditty and had to grab it.If you're expecting a fruit explosion to the face, then this isn't it. Instead you get a decent quality tequila with plenty of bourbon flavour from the cask ageing, a nice smoky edge (like a mild flavoured mezcal), followed by lovely buttery caramel and a slight hint of the pineapple on the finish. There's nothing artificial about this, unlike some fruit flavoured spirits out there and its about as smooth as they come.I've only tried it straight up so far, but wouldn't be surprised if a cube of ice would help bring out the pineapple notes a bit more.This would also be great for any scotch drinkers who are looking to try something new.

First time I bought this, I expected more pronounced pineapple, but liked it anyway.Having compared it with other mainstream tequilas, the mellowness which Rojo has makes it my favourite. A tequila that has quaffability as well as making good cocktails.

Great tequila, good for sipping but does need salt rim to bring out the pineapple 🍍 flavour
