Why do you need a manual. Three controls, Tuning thumbwheel, volume/ power thumbwheel, band selector. Step 1, put batteries in, 2, plug headphones in, 3, turn volume until it clicks, 4, turn volume up to comfortable level, 5 turn tuning knob and play with band selector until you hear something you like.
