If the noise is because you have to turn the amp up very high to get a good signal then yes, this will help. Be sure to use the 48v phantom power switch with it or it won't work at all. **Q: How does it work with shotgun mics such as an NT5?** A: Probably not how you would expect. Rode nt5s are condenser mics and require phantom power. This is a passive line level booster and would boost a dynamic mic.
