NispiraReplacement Water Filter Cartridges Compatible with Cat Mate & Dog Mate Fountains, Pack of 12

I ordered these thinking I was getting a great deal. I should have known better! Inserted first filter from this batch on 6/11. After one day, the water looked discolored, almost like the water was rusty. However, I use bottled spring water so I know it wasn't the water. Dumped out water and the filter was all brown. I usually use a filter for 2 weeks, rinsing after the first week and changing every other. I've NEVER had a filter look so disgusting! Decided to another one a try just in case it was a fluke. Put second filter from this batch on 6/12, today, same thing! Water yellow/brown, and see picture of how the filter looks not even after 24 hours! As reference, a put a new, unused filter on top, and the used filter (less than 24 hours) on the bottom. Also, whatever is in these filters and discoloring the water, has also caused discoloration (similar to rust rings), on the fountain itself! I just hope that whatever is in these does not harm my 5 cats. Also, I am now out the money from these filters and have to purchase other ones because the "return window" was up on 6/5. I don't open new packages until other packages are empty, so I had no reason to open them up and use them sooner. All I can say, is you aren't getting a bargain with these. Spend the extra money and get the original cat-mate filters. These are garbage and perhaps even be toxic to your pets.

Awful filters! After 2 days of use they turn orange! The filter and the water dish all have an orange tint all around the water bowl. I clean my cats water dish very well every week. At first I didn't even think of it being the filter. So I took a brand new filter and put it in a bowl of water to see what happens. Sure enough, the filter turned orange. We opened it up and the pellets look nothing like the other brand I've gotten in the past. The orange color we were seeing....IT"S RUST!!!!! My cats were drinking rust! I will never buy from NISPIRA again. I've had these water fountains for a couple years and never had this problem. I don't know where they make them or get the pellets that's supposed to filter the water from but BEWARE.

I'm absolutely disgusted with these. I've been using the branded filters for a couple of years with no issues, they help keep our cats water fresh. These looked like a great deal so I gave them a try. For the first time ever the water was disgusting in days, with actual mold appearing to be growing... I completely sanitized both bowls, & put in new (rinsed) filters. The same thing happened again. This time I decided to put a filter in one and not the other... sure enough the one with the filter was disgusting in no time and the one with NO filter was fresh and clean proving that something in these filters are actually CAUSING the mold growth. It's past my return window so my only recourse is to warm other consumers. From my experience you're better off with no filter at all.

TRASH!! I'd give it 0 stars it I could. These filters turned the water a slightly brown color & the filter itself looked nasty/dirty after only 1 day. I cleaned the fountain/pump & replaced the filter w/a new 1 from the same batch - same thing happened. Then I noticed the cat wasn't feeling right - loose stools for several days. I removed the filter & cleaned the fountain/pump again & she's starting to feel better (no more loose stools); no more filter until I can get the original cat-mate brand By the time we needed the replacements, the return window had passed - will NOT be buying these again! The original cat-mate filters lasted at least 2 weeks before needing a change & never turned the water colors.

I love this water filter but ever since I purchased this 12 pack of filters it's been a mess. These filters are not filtering properly. When I first bought this fountain I purchased an extra filter and it came with one. They worked great. You clean the bowl and rinse the filter good. It worked like new. I could go 2 to 3 weeks without cleaning it out, (Which I know I shouldn't and didn't mean too) and there would never any slim or the water flow never slowed down.These filters I can only go about 3 to 4 days and I see the water changing and it's slowing. It's disgusting. I know I don't want to drink water like that and neither should my 2 kitties. Very disappointed in these replacement filters. Would not recommend.

I have to agree with the latest reviews of this product I just read. . .buyer beware that you're getting a better deal than purchasing the actual Cat Mate replacement filters. These filters may look the same, but there is definitely something different in them that makes them inferior and causes them to not be as efficient as the actual Cat Mate replacement filters. I have four cats; three of them seniors with special needs and diets, so having them consume fresh water and a lot of it is a must in my home. I love the Cat Mate Fountain as it's easy to maintain and clean and in the past before using these filters, only had to do a deep clean about once a month and replace the filter at that same time. I purchased a dozen of these inferior filters in late July and started using them around August 1st. To date, I have used four filters, the last needed to be replaced in just six days. . .such a disappointment and such a waste of money. I will be traveling in four days and with the inferior performance of these filters, will probably completely clean the fountain and replace the new filter before leaving so that my cat sitter won't have to deal with any fountain issues while I'm gone. At this rate, I'm going to throw the remaining filters away and purchase Cat Mate replacement filters. Perhaps these poor quality filters will work better in a home with only one or two cats, but not with four cats. Shop wisely my cat friends!

These might be a knock-off since I've bought these before in a pet store and they were great. But this particular purchased came in a large clear plastic bag instead of the official box. These filters turn the fountain water yellowy orange and leave a terrible residue build-up. Planning to return them. Very unhappy.

Arrived fast. Exactly what I was expecting and needed for my Cat Mate Pet Fountain.
