Great Barrels! Great Company! Thanks!
Hi folks, This company produces fabulous, sturdy, good looking and good smelling oak barrels. They have wonderful customer service, and they stand by their product. I've ordered several of these barrels of different sizes, and they are high quality. It's an honor having my name on the front while serving the product to friends. I keep the filled barrels in my barn loft, where the wide temperature swings will produce the best results. You can do the same if you have an outdoor shed, or house attic, or garage attic. The temperature inversions cause the product to seep deep into the charred oak, and then out, until it is finely cured with the caramels and vanillas. That's how it works. Some folks prefer to make their own product, and that is fine. I lack skill and patience, and prefer to buy a medium-priced gin to cure, and that is working well for me. I live in Moore County, Tennessee. While I am not a Jack D tour guide, I have friends who are. This is the way to go for those who want to serve with class & pride, WITH YOUR FAMILY NAME ON IT!

Very cool item! It’s easy to fill, durable enough for liquor, actually flavors the alcohol. Fun gift!

good product with some issues but fixed
I bought this item and received it, all at first view was good, but once you start to assemble some issues appears as leaks that i fixed as recommended. the spigot quality very poor made on a aluminum tube all grinded irregularly and the wood blocking the outter hole to let the liquid move also the preparation of the wood in the spigot to attached to the barrel making not possible to install poor quality control on the spigot. the stand came on two parts when i put the barrel on the top..

Great But Not Great
I rated this a 5 because nobody reads the 3-star reviews. Here's what's Great: Beautiful barrel with customized labeling; zero leaks - zero; super fun to do your own barreling; a wonderful display for your whisky section; adds richness to the color of the spirit; comes with easy to understand instructions and booklet to help you know about different spirits. Here's the Not Great: It didn't make the whiskey taste better; it was very oak-loaded and I couldn't pick up the caramels and vanillas it was supposed to add; I used Wild Turkey 101 on the first batch and Jim Beam Black 7 on the second batch. The idea was to take a good inexpensive bourbon and age it to make even better. It didn't. In fact, after just two weeks, it was so strong with the oak taste, I had to empty it back into the bottle. I am not a fan of Woodford Reserve Double Oaked. Using this barrel made it taste like it without the sweetness. I'm going to try Wild Turkey Rare Breed next in hopes to soften the edge on the proof. Expectations are low though. It was still worth trying but this will likely be a one-and-done and I'll let this become a 'trophy decanter' once the chardness is gone.

No good.
Text was hard to read on the 1 Liter barrel. There is enough space on the face of the barrel to make the text readable. Should have went with my other original seller. I do not recommend this one.

Great product.
Nice product. Had a defective cap, replaced promptly. Filled it twice now. Won blinds two months in a row! Really nice mellowing effect on high proof bourbon.
