Love the story. Buy some real jumping beans and see how fascinated your children are. Just open the containers and start reading. Loved this when I was a kid, but found out few have heard the story.

This is a great story told in two languages. I used it in a classroom with bilingual children where we had been learning about the life cycle of plants and the life cycle of butterflies. It made a good connection between beans and butterflies (or moths).

I bought this last Easter for 3 of my grandchildren, because I also bought them Mexican Jumping Beans. They loved them. Ages of the kids were 5, 7, and 8.

I am an ELL teacher and I used this book years ago. The book arrived in beautiful condition - brand new. But I had forgotten how it was written. I teach my students to speak in complete sentences. It is the foundation of the curriculum. The author of this book didn't not present that at all. And she wrote "I'll" as "i'll." I was almost embarrassed to use it. However, the story is cute, and I had purchased jumping beans to go along with it. The author presents the life cycle of the moth at the end of the story. The pictures are wonderful, but still I would have appreciated complete sentences and better grammar. My plan now is to go into the book and edit it with a Sharpie before I give it to my granddaughters.

Great book bought to give a child along with some Mexican jumping beans.

Bought for our 3 year old grandson who lives in California, a state where half the population is of a Spanish speaking origin. This will help him as he learns a second language poco a poco.

Paired with real jumping beans as part of my insect study with my preschoolers.
