what ram do i need to upgrade my dell 7050 desk top? credcomm

My apologies for the late response, but i really don't know the answer to that question. I purchased it for my Dell Inspiron 15 5000 series based on the recommendation of a tech friend. It did speed up my system a bit but I don't remember how much ram I had to start with when I added it in. My apologies. I'm assuming I had the basic amount of ram, whatever that was, for that laptop provided by the manufacturer at that time. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful there. Lee Tomjack

you can usually mix speeds in memory but it is usually done from higher to lower. What I mean is that you can put a higher speed ram in a lower speed slot and it will step down to accommodate the logical speed of the unit. Putting a slower speed chip in a higher speed slot "might" work, but with possible issues. If it was me, I would get the proper speed.
