This grip railing is perfect as a simple grip device to help older family members on our two side porch steps. The railing is sturdy, installation took maybe 15 minutes, and it is attractive. The railing was delivered in just one day! It was just what we needed to ensure the safety of our guests for an event.

The handrail arrived in good condition, well built, and was wrapped well. However, the instructions provided were insufficient, i.e. how high above the steps to mount it and what drill size to use to anchor in masonry. I had to rely on my previous home construction experience to install the handrail properly.The handrail was installed in wood (vs. masonry) and would have been straight foreward except for a couple of deficiencies in the kit; which is the reason for my rating above. One is that, of the two bolts provided, one had nearly no tread and would not "bite" the wood, and the other is that the wrench provided was useless. The bolt should have never made it through quality control; and, it would have been better to not provide the wrench at all! If the company had paid attention to the details, their rating would have been better.

Provides needed support for a 1 step entry without the need to drill into concrete step. Easy to install on vinyl sided wall. Looks elegant and does not rust. Provides the support needed as I age. Good value.

I got these for to aid a 95 year old get into my home from the garage. I installed these using 3” screws instead of the 2” screws that were provided. It was a bit of a challenge to get them screwed all the way in because of the way the design/space is but with the help of a ratchet and pliers they went in. They are sturdy to pull on but not as much from side to side. So far they work great tho.

This is a great little railing, exactly what we needed for the two steps to our patio. Very easy to install

The vertical support is good. The horizontal support is less than good. It rocks too much left and right to be acceptable. However, this item will allow you to comfortably walk up and down stairs.

This product is a little less fancy but fits the need at a good price.

We purchased this railing because it extended and thought it would help older folks going up and down just one step by our back door, but it seems wobbly when you grab onto it for support, giving a sense that it's not sturdy or strong enough. The hangers that the bolts go through on the rail just don't seem thick enough. The wrought iron grab bar made by Iron Valley we had in it's place didn't extend, but seem a lot more solid and strong. So, i'm not sure we'll keep it for the price we paid. Probably will put the other one made by Iron Valley back up. Disappointed.
