These did curl my hair without heat but the curl didn't last as long as I had hoped. It took me a minute to get the hang of them because as first they kept sliding out of my hair. The key is to hold them near your scalp and then wrap your hair, not to start at the bottom and roll them like hot rollers.

Let me start off by saying I RARELY write reviews, but these things are so awesome I felt completely obligated to tell everyone to buy them now! I almost didn’t buy Spoolies because some of the reviews were not overly encouraging, but I have extensions and I had to find a healthy alternative to curling my hair, so I took a gamble and won big! Stop thinking about it and just do it, you’re hair will thank you! I also want to say, I’m not a hair styling pro, by any means. In fact I don’t want to admit how many times I’ve burned myself with the curling wand...so if I can manage it you can!

My hair is pretty much impossible to curl...I've used so many devices and so much hair spray and it still goes flat by the end of the day or before that. The spoolies worked pretty good but please beware on how you put them in. When wrapping your hair, make sure you wrap your hair closest to the flat end. The longer your hair the smaller of section you will have to use. Unfortunately for my long hair, the 13 only let me do my ends.The rubber on the spoolies are extremely sticky, especially the first time you use them. Any lose hair does tend to stick and my hair got easily wrapped around. If not removed carefully it ended up breaking hair off when I tried to take my hair down. By my second time though I was able to wrap my hair around it so it didn't happen as often.All in all the spoolies worked decently well, which is why the 4 stars but I can't give it more then that. It curls my hair well but I still have to put lots of hair spray in my hair to keep the curl and it goes straight half way through the day or if I don't put enough hair spray into it. If your hair curls easily or can keep curls then this product would work really well for you.Sleeping in this isn't too uncomfortable though is awkward at times as well but that's what I do every time for it.In the end I'd recommend them but wish they were cheaper...

I was unsure about these but I absolutely love them. The reviews are correct, you have to be careful when you are unraveling them, but you quickly get the hang of it. I have longer hair, but it isn't super thick. It's also naturally wavy, but not a pretty wave, more frizzy and wild. These tame my curls. I often let my hair dry, then dampen it with a spray bottle, curl them up and then let them dry for about 45 minutes. My only complaint is that I wish they were a bit larger so that I could put more hair in them. I use all 15 every time!

I have chin length blond very thin, straight hair. The spoolies Jumbo size worked great to give me beachy waves.I love my purchase, they are easy to use and stay put - even with my thin hair!!

I've only just tested the Jumbo Spoolies so far, but that test was a success! My hair does not, NOT, hold a good curl unless it dries that way. And it doesn't curl very easy even when using product. One section in particular always rebels. So naturally I chose that section to test. After reading the directions telling me to do it on dry hair, I was SURE it wasn't going to work. I wound it up and let it sit for 10 minutes. Guys, there was an awesome little spiral when I un-wound! And it stayed there all night. With no product in my hair. I was shocked. It felt like my hair stuck to the Spoolie and it pulled a little bit, but nothing I can't get over because, hello curls!

14 curlers came with the pack, it was only enough for the part of my hair pictured, so about 1/3, I’ll definitely buy more though because these took me about 5 minutes to put in and were easy to sleep in. I never got the curling iron or wand thing down, it took too long for my long thick hair and it always makes me hot & sweaty.. not good for when I’m trying to get ready for something. These curls came out so good on my first attempt,I used no heat and no product. Very happy with the results (pic is before I ran my fingers through the curls)

I have medium long, medium thick hair that is difficult to make hold curls. Now, everyone’s hair is different but after having tried several strategies with these spoolies this is what works for me. At night after showering when my hair is wet I put about 2 tsps of American Crew extra hold gel, its for men (redken extra hold mousse wasn’t cutting it). Then I blowdry to where its between damp and lightly damp. I was getting annoyingly inconsistent results with lightly damp to dry hair. Then I put in the spoolies in the middle of my hair shaft, so there is room at the top and about 2-3” left out at the ends. If the spoolie falls out, I put more hair in it. The trick is making it tight enough so it will not fall out but still close, for me that’s a little over an inch width of hair. You want to tug after putting it in to make sure its taut. And I go to sleep.Because they are not too close next to my head, I can shift them around to have my head make contact with the pillow. Is it the most comfortable sleep? No. But it is hard to fall asleep for me most nights and I can still do it. Lately I have been waking up sporadically around 5am and taking them out, and this is VERY important otherwise the curls won’t last: I spray my whole head with hairspray. Then I quickly check to make sure all the strands around my face are curled. If there are missing or weird sections, I’ll dampen, then throw a couple spoolies back in and easily go back to sleep. When I wake up I have wavey hair that literally lasts all week! And I wear my hair up for work most days if not every day.By day four or five if the waves need a little pick me up I will spray deva curl curl refresher in and voila! Not as wavey as day one or two but my hair still looks styled and cute.I guess the whole process can be done while awake on the weekend. The best part is sitting around or sleeping while my hair does itself! Putting them in easy too with a hair divider. Oh and I did end up buying two sets, it was worth it for me. Not all my hair fit in one set.

There is no way that the ones I ordered are jumbo size. I have long hair and I can only use a very very small amount in each one. I would need three sets to do my entire head. Delivery was slow also. Don't buy these. Waste of money.

Could not make these work for me. Had to try but overall no success.

Easy to use. Held my hair really well overnight and I have very thick shoulder length hair. Produced a nice wave.
