Working fine for live work
I'm nowhere near as picky about live sound as studio sound, just because there's only so good you can get live through the PA-Of-The-Day, and audiences are so forgiving. And the gear takes a beating. These do what they're supposed to, and do it well. Build quality is reasonable. Of the four I purchased for mons, one barrel had come open - I just pushed it close and it hasn't caused any problems since. No clue if I'd use these for studio or not- I'm really just using them on mon chains for a loud rock band. Maybe they attenuate a frequency somewhere, maybe not, I have no idea. I Just know I can get these new mons in my mixer now and everyone's happy. Very reasonable price, solid shipping, I was quite happy with this purchase.

Great product, great price, excellent brand
Hosa has never let me down, and though I ended up not needing this, I did NOT return it. I added it to my collection of parts as one never knows when I'll need to join cables together. I didn't know what I needed, so I ordered both male to male and female to female. Silly me, you can tell I'm just getting into music production. However, I've been into sound for a couple of years, and why I'm not an expert, I like Hosa products. I keep them on hand at all times, one of everything, it seems.

Male XLR to Male 1/4 TRS
Pin 1 Ground Pin 2 Positive Pin 3 Negative. The male XLR end is wired as a female good way to get your daily headache when they go against industry standards. Making the Tip ground, ring negative, Sleeve Positive.

good advice
this is a good adapter it works good good clear sound not what i need it tho i recommend not to put a 1/4 female to 1/8 male head phone jack adapter to it for small device like laptops and i pod ext. the sound quality would go down last DJ show it didnt work to good with it i/f your going to DJ using a laptop you rather get a sound card, or i recommend using the 1/4 female to 1/8 jack and just plug a guitar cord to it right in to the PA

No need to continue down the list. This one works fine
Good price and good quality make for a good XLR turn around. I like it's simple design and that it's about as minimalistic as an XLR barrel can get for less space taken up in the lure box of audio adapters. The pins are solid and it fits every XLR cable brand I've connected to it snugly and securely with no play. Looking for a M to M XLR barrel? This is a good one and does the job well.

Does the job!
I manage a classic rock band. I recently ordered a bunch of stuff to replace aging gear. Cables, mics, stands, snakes, etc. We have now been out on a couple of gigs with the stuff. It is all good quality and working fine. Does exactly what I expected it to do. No surprises. In the interest of time I am applying this exact same review to all of the items I bought for this purpose and am happy with. FWIW, I am also taking the time to be critical of the items I am not completely happy with.

This can save the day
Does exactly what it should do, every gig bag should have a couple of them. I had a helpful volunteer run 500 feet of XLR cable backwards. Pulled out the adapters and saved the day. I have also recommended the female to female adapters. I would recommend these to a friend but none of my friends use them.

Rare to find adapter
It is not very common to find a male to male XLR adapter.

Totally fine
Used it to give one of my wires a new purpose, since it was just sitting around and being useless. Works totally fine, no quality drop that I notice

Does what it's supposed to do.
Does what it's supposed to do.Only used to make sure it works so far, but one of those handy things to have in your kit when you do video or audio work for a living
