Williams30023 1/4-Inch Drive Locking Extension Bar, 4-Inch

This spinner is the exact same tool that Snap-on sells as the Blue-Point BLPSD14. It is well-finished, but smaller in diameter than my old Snap-on TMS70A 1/4" spinner, which I prefer. Like the Blue-Point equivalent, it is not stamped "Williams" anywhere (it has no markings at all). It was made in Taiwan. There is nothing at all wrong with it but I probably won't use it much.Hmmm, the picture lies. It shows a TMS70A, but you don't get that. You get the BLPSD14, which is smaller in diameter and has a rather different friction pattern on the edge. It is a good tool and works well, but not as well as the rather better tool in the picture. For shame Amazon! Show the actual tool that you are selling please.

I just need to suck it up and buy the Snap-On extensions. These work ok but every time I buy a cheap extension, I'm annoyed it doesn't have knurling at the top and none of the value-minded brands do a really good job of holding the socket on. The Snap-On ones you can yank on and the socket comes off. These are kind of hit or miss. It could be that I'm using Craftsman sockets too I suppose. If you're a pro, get the Snap-On ones.

It's flat rear 'face' makes it difficult to remove from some ratchets. A 3 or 4mm 'hub' projecting out from its drive end would assuredly solve that issue. Also wish it's flange were both larger in diameter & thicker (I think ø28mm & 8.25mm thick would be great), with deeper more aggressive knurling.Still might return... don't see myself using it much.

I purchased the Williams 24" long 1/4' drive locking extension. I received it in a clear plastic bag packed inside a brown shipping box.The extension appears high quality. The bag is marked with the Williams part number, country of origin, description and bar code.I found laser etching with the Williams name and part number toward the male end of this. The locking ring does have cross knurling on the locking collar. Will save time when I use this with a universal joint and socket on cable clamps and electronic module fasteners inside the engine bay.

Gave it 4 only because I'd have to use it more and longer to rate it 5, tool performance over time is what earns that in my book. If you're tires of using goo or electrical tape to hold sockets, this is what pros have to keep from loosing a small socket in a tight spot then spending more time getting it out than the entire project.

If the diameter of this was 2-3mm larger, and the knurling way less smooth (barely there in my book), this would be terrific. But its diameter closely matches the heads of all my small ratchets, and the knurling is so smooth I can barely turn the thing with clean dry hands. Looks like the bomb, but it's a dud.

remember this is for 1 24" bar, the picture is very deceptive, it shows 3 and not just 1. The bar has the name inked on but the quality seems good enough at this price point. It held some of my worn sockets with lock pin hole very good, i am happy with them, the review would be all stars except for the picture deception.

I only opened the package this afternoon, so this certainly isn't a long term review. The William's 30007 1/4 u-joint extension looks and feels well made. I would give it a 5 star rating, but knocked a star off just because this thing is quite fat, I could see this causing access issues in a tight spot. I think I'll keep this one as a spare and order something a bit thinner.

Made well, and very useful. An alternative to spending much more on a certain big-name brand.

Well made tool. Nice finish. MUCH better than a GearWrench locking extension.

This tool is perfect. I have seen a few others and they were not even close to what I was looking for.
