A beautiful book
This book contains beautiful poems by Crowley, a bit obscure but due to this fact becomes rather provocative, a great literature for anyone interested in poetry and or the occult.

The potent ramblings of a mad man
Over all I am very pleased with this purchase. It arrived the day I had expected, 5 hours earlier than I had expected. The paperback arrived in perfect condition, with that wonderful new book smell. So on that front I have no reason to complain, and I won't. However I would like to note to those who do not exactly understand the contents of the book, that it may not be entirely satisfactory. This is a very cryptic text, I don't think anyone would deny that. Most of the passages do not direct anything meaningful in any direct fashion, and the commentary by Crowley does not help that much. This is definitely a book for contemplation and meditation, and, though I may be wrong, the majority of the passages seem to be either glorifying or justifying spiritual hedonism. They are fairly interesting, however, and that is not to devalue them at all. It is a mystic book, in the end, and expecting anything more or less than mysticism, would just be an exercise in foolishness.

93!
This is a nice copy of Liber 333 for the price; it will likely sit in my shelves for a good while.

Excellent Read
I am really loving this book, it is just so much fun to read. I also find it to be inspiring. I think Crowley is one of the greatest writers I have ever read. The spirit of this book is fun and puzzling and profound all in one. It is full of riddles that will challenge you. It ties in nicely with the study of Qabalah, actually knowledge of the Qabalah will greatly enhance your reading of this book and vice versa!I like the quality of this edition, as I do all of the other books I have ordered that were published by Weiser. It is just nice, well worth more than I paid for it, as I will be reading it for the rest of my life as far as I can tell. There is always another insight to be gleaned from even a casual read of a few chapters. I have learned many things that I never saw coming, like the Greek alphabet!I give it two thumbs up all the way!

I couldn't understand a thing he wrote
I am giving this three stars because I am stupid to what it says. This version has a part that explains it and I still don't get it. I tried for over a year to get it and never did. I still own it with all the notes and formulas that I wrote in it but can't figure it out at all. I even pretended that the people didn't understand it either so I attempted to do research myself. Lost is all I can say. Not for everyone but those that do understand it I give many props to.

Beyond Kabbalah...
If you've studied Crowley for even a few hours, you'll realize that you're not going to open this book and understand what he was getting at just by reading through the text a few times. This is undoubtedly a work that requires careful consideration of so many implicit elements. To list what you need to consider to get at "the deeper meaning" of this book, I'd have to sit here all day.The interesting thing about this book is that you don't necessarily have to analyze the text thoroughly (though it's certainly worth it) to get something out of it. Some of the 'poems' evoke a good laugh, some are beautiful and inspiring and can easily become a personal gem of wisdom for the reader (for me, "The Mountaineer".)When I first started getting into Crowley's writing, a friend recommended starting with the Book of Lies. Other friends naturally scoffed at the recommendation, and insisted I start with The Book of the Law. Now I wish I'd gone with the Book of Lies first, so that I could come back to it after reading other Crowley just to see how far I've come in the Great Work. Even if the Great Work isn't your goal, this book if nothing else is a fantastic conversation piece. I recommend it to not only occultists, but to all book lovers. It's fascinating.

Very funny
I found out about this book from a new website [...], which provides a brief description of Crowley as the arch magician and also mentions his books and his systems [along with many others though I gather it is early days yet for the site there are many more to come].As the website says this book will mean absolutely nothing to someone who isn't well versed in magic and mysticism , symbolism and Crowley's system - in fact the system of many magicians. Or shall we say the ball and the polo stick approach to life.It made me laugh in the way an in joke makes you laugh, but I can well see it would truly annoy someone who was, as it were, not in on the joke. When the symbols are all up and explained on the site above it may help. May.
