Final Fantasy XV: Standard Edition

Think of it this way: either buy this to use as a handy reference for the game, or buy it for a cool book with lots of renderings of the game. There are tons of maps, which are of interest to me merely for looking at the design elements. There are also sporadic little drawings and renderings that add to the overall "collectible" quality.The main difference between the paperback and the hardcover is just the cover. There are renderings of the four main characters on the inside of the cover and an included lithograph.I recommend buying at least one, and if you are into long term collecting, keep one in plastic and put it away somewhere. It will probably fetch a good price at some point (I myself have sold many classic video game books for 5x the list price or more). If you really want to have a copy to beat up, it's only a few dollars more currently for the hard cover, so why not?NOTE: I received my first copy with a big gouge in the front: UNACCEPTABLE. But I sent an exchange request and am got my new copy in its own box, not wedged against a Blentec blender box. A funny aside: I also purchased a $6 vinyl pop figure from the Gold Box which shipped at the same time, though in its own box and wrapped three times with bubble wrap... (facepalm).The guide does have lists of weapons, fishing, spell crafting, enemies, hunts, everything! It does try to stay spoiler free (not mentioning story elements), but you can figure out some things if you look too far ahead. It definitely has everything you could want from a strategy guide.Bottom line: get one in hardcover before the price jumps back up! (Currently $23.99).

EXCELLENT GUIDE! Quality is superior, came wrapped in plastic, LOVE that new book smell! Also to those of you giving the guide one star for petty or imagined issues, blame UPS for tossing your package for the crushed corners but in no way does that changes the content(also its backed by Amazon so if for some reason your guide is damaged they will send you a new one & you can return the one that was damaged- instead of giving the guide a poor rating). For the guy giving it ONE star for the price? seriously you must not have prime, because its almost half the retail price & I have paid triple for far less of a guide( Maybe don't spend money on games 7 guides if you are that broke?). For those giving one star because its missing content that was added after the guide was published, PIGGYBACK(who published the guide) has those updates & more available for FREE in the form of a pdf download on their website & as well as a 43 pg sample, (I'll include the link for those that can't find it on Piggyback.com) I think its pretty awesome they took the time to do that, because they didn't have to. This guide is a must have , especially for those playing day one, the map in the CE is great, shows even the gathering nodes, hidden items, treasures, etc You will miss a lot of those items without the guide, because there are easy to miss when you are just running around. GET THIS GUIDE! The content, the maps, the art, the walk-throughs, Everything you need without risking a virus trying to google it from pages that have just copied and pasted from other sites. Also I would highly recommend watching "Kingsglaive" before playing the game or asap. It is available to rent or buy on Amazon Video as well. I believe the deluxe physical bundle that just went up for sale the day after launch has the movie with it. If you want to know how to beat this game more effectively, if you're looking to find where you need to go, to fing an item, etc... etc... etc... This guide is all you need. It does come with a one-sided map poster. So there's no debate on if you want to hang a cool looking pic on the wall at the expense you need the map to track down a respawn treasure chest, As far as I know the spots where you find treasure at are not random. This guide will tell it all. Combat tactics, defense, the walkthrough is effortlessly easy to follow. (NO CUT SCENE SPOILERS!!!) This guide left nothing out. There was an earlier review I saw that was mentioning 10 pages. And a link connecting you to those pages. I haven't really noticed it yet. As far as I tell this is the best strategy for any game I've bought. The collectors edition does have added items. And that's cool. If you want to pay 5 extra bucks. I just wanted a regular paperback. Cause it's easier to stay on a page that you're on. I have to use a paperweight or find a way to fold the pager where the book won't slam shut after I figure out where I'm going. With the hard cover. And some of the hard caver guides I have. The way there made. Some of the pages come unattached to the guide itself. Maybe, these problems in the hc have been resolved. I chose to do paperback. Yet! This guide is excellent either way. You can't go wrong with the added stuff with the ce. Great Guide piggyback!!! A++++!!!!

This hardcover guide was really good for the game. Some may say that because of the continuing update of the game in terms of balance changes and additional content that it is rendered useless but this is not the case. I found that it is awesome for going through the story still, this many months out from release. Additionally, Ive found the maps to be incredibly helpful. It is something nice about having the map in my hand versus trying to look at a pc screen. They also have highlighted the proper routes to take during many moments in quests. Lastly boss strategies remain relevant with weaknesses and drops accurately detailed. Dialogue choices remain relevant as well.Overall I used this guide extensively during my 84 hour playthrough of the game and found the detail of the hunts and weakness and locations, maps, quests, and how to go through stealth missions useful.Awesome collectors item and awesome guide.

This is what a guide should be. It's not a hand-holding walkthrough that guides your every movement; it gives maps and suggested routes for specific items; it tells you what enemies will be an a general area or dungeon, but it doesn't tell you step by step every move to make, every place something is going to appear. The topics are cross-referenced so as to make it easy to find everything you need. I've yet to search for something I could not find in a short amount of time. I've yet to have a question that it doesn't answer. But I've yet to come across something that gives away so much of the story that there's no point in playing the game. Best game guide I've ever seen!

Yes! I was so glad to get this, finally a list of ALL the side quests in the main game. Of course it won't help with DLC, but it is great for the main story line. Glad to get it!

No soy fan de las guías porque hasta cierto punto te echan a perder la experiencia, pero en un juego tan complejo como lo es un Final Fantasy la verdad que no me puedo quejar. Es una compra obligada si eres un coleccionista o si te gustan los productos bien hechos. La guía viene súper detallada y la estrategia que propone es muy efectiva. No te arruina momentos (a menos que te brinques páginas) sino que te prepara para ellos. El mapa de juego es hermoso y la calidad del mismo es de lo mejor.
