Quartz Cuckoo Clock - The Half-timbered House AH 20 QM

The only reason I'm giving this item four stars (instead of five) is because it isn't as pictured and there were two different sets of measurements in the product description. I wasn't sure if the clock was 9-inches tall or 11-iinches tall. From the top pitch of the roof to the lowest point of the "skirt," the clock is 9 inches. Also, I was disappointed the pine-cone "weights" were made of plastic and nothing like the pine cones in this photo. Other than these issues, the clock overall has amazing detail and is beautifully made.

I fell in love with this design when I was looking for my first ever cuckoo clock this year.Wanted a Quartz one since I find the 8-day ones a bit far from my budget and the 1-day ones a bit troublesome to wind everyday.Chose this simple one over another model that had more moving animations by virtue of the simple design. It doesn't have very bright colours.The cuckoo sound comes with an echo and some waterfall background noise.There is a button to adjust to make the cuckoo sound an hour faster, but I don't see why anyone would do that. (Imagine 5pm, your cuckoo clock rings 6 times). If you keep pressing, it goes a cycle. Note that 10pm - 5am is where the cuckoo is silent.You have to wind the time forwards or press the button to adjust it so that the shutoff is 10pm - 5am and not 10am-5pm.A melody plays after the cuckoo finishes its job.There is a switch to turn off the melody (12 in them i heard) alone.You also can shut off the cuckoo and melody completely.

The media could not be loaded.  It looks much better than on the photo! The clock gives right time, its deviation amounting to a little more than 1 second after 6 days of work.At first, I could not understand the purpose of the button for increasing the number of cuckoo's cries for each hour? Who needs that the cuckoo cried 6 times at 5 o'clock, for example? I found the answer at one of the Russian websites!Turns out, the button is necessary if the cuckoo's cries differ from the clock values. For example, if the cuckoo cries 3 times at 5 o clock, you should press the button twice, and if it cries 7 times, you should press the button 22 times (there are 24 hours in a day!!!). And one more thing: if at 10 a.m. the clock does not cuckoo, "thinking" that its 10 p.m. already, you should merely press the button 12 times instead of putting the clock forward.

My family likes the clock very much! It is hand signed by the clock maker himself. I like the fact that I don't have to remember to reset it every day or 8. The quality is nice. It takes 3 "C" batteries for the quartz clock & the bird. You can turn off the music, or the bird when you don't want the noise. If the electronics last, this will be a very enjoyable purchase I hope to have for a long time!Update... March 2021 The clock still works perfectly & over 6 years I’ve only had to change the Duracell Batteries once! We are still very happy with the clock.

I bought the cuckoo clock for my 2 year old nephew as a birthday gift. He loves it, gets to the clock every time it chimes an hour. The finishing looks good, and the cuckoo looks sturdy. It was simple to put together, my sister days. I compared this model against a few of them on amazon in the same price range and found this model with traditional look and feel, very appealing.I personally wanted to buy one for a very long time, maybe next time.

I ordered this clock as an anniversary gift for my husband. The clock arrived and was adorable, however, the clock face and mechanics were not attached to the outer carving. We could see the nails where it had pulled away and it was just rattling around inside. I returned the clock and ordered another one with the exact same results. To have two show up in the same condition leads me to believe that this product and company is sub par at best. It's too bad as it really is a cute clock. I wouldn't recommend anyone order this clock unless you enjoy the frustration of disappointment.

This is a great product for small room of size 10ftx10ft. Not suitable for large houses. I tried to return but it comes from Germany and need $350 for UPS or $79 for USPS so I am planning to keep it in toilet.Be carful before purchase.After several years of use, now I feel the quality of this product.It is always stays correct time not even a minute difference in year. I changed my mind to give 5*
