Looks amazing
This is definitely for experienced cross stitchers. I found it helpful to scan the pattern into my computer and transfer it to my iPad so I could mark it off from a .pdf instead of paper. Being able to zoom in is awesome. Gridding your fabric is also immensely helpful. I did mine on a scroll frame and I’ll never go back to a hoop unless the project is small.I did mess up and started in the wrong place! Rookie mistake. I did an entire panel (1 of 6) before I realized my mistake. I had to remove all of my work and the thread I had used was not salvageable. I thought I would run out for sure on all of the sky colors, but only ran out of one! So there is plenty of floss included in the kit. I cross country and danish stitch and have heard that those styles use the least amount of thread.I’ve always loved Dimension cross stitch. They are high quality kits.

Gorgeous kit
The "Pocky point" is one of the most beautiful counted cross stitch kits you can find on the market and definetly my favourite. Totally worth time and money. The details are amazing, the colors are vibrant, and when you finish, you'll have a pretty realistic picture. The embroidery floss comes pre-sorted and is organized well, the Aida is good quality, multicolor chart is easy to follow. I'd say it is an upper-intermediate difficulty kit, not suitable for the beginners, and may take long time to finish (5 month for me). This project also shows what impact combining different tehnics (cross stitch, half cross stitch and back stitch) and using not only solid, but combined colors too, brings to the finished piece.

Rocky Point
Phew! This is finally done!Finished piece is beautiful and looks like a painted picture. Colors blend in nicely and there is no pixelation effect as you get with low quality cross stitch designs. I didn't run out of thread and in fact have quite a bit left. Kit requires cross stitch, half cross stitch and back stitch techniques. This is definitely not for beginners and would take considerable amount of time to complete.I got some fraying issues with some of the threads but nothing too bad to affect the final look. I didn't cut the thread in half as instructed and used the full length so maybe that's why it frayed a bit.Overall quite happy with the kit, happy with instructions, happy with the finished piece. Highly recommend!

My kit was ordered from China
re: Rocky Point Lighthouse cross stitch. My particular order for the kit came from China (Joy Sunday). The size was to be around 11x17". This kit took weeks to arrive due to the long travel. When I opened the kit, the size of the complete cross stitch was almost TWICE the size I had expected and way too big for my purposes. I ended up giving this kit to charity. The photos of the finished cross stitch are quite beautiful and I imagine that it would take quite a while to finish.fyi - Joy Sunday did respond and were quite nice and I explained to them that I had given the kit away and decided not to return it or to get a refund.

Great kit, not for beginners though
Wonderful kit, well packaged and thought out. Comes with everything but the hoop. I would highly recommend getting your own needles, the 2 with the kit are very small and short. I spent a few hours converting all #'s to DMC for the purpose of thread shopping and I put all the kit thread on floss cards for organizing which I highly recommend. This is my first but by far not my last Gold Collection kit. This is my mother in laws mothers day gift, hope she likes it. I highly recommend this kit.

A needlepoint order arrived without the needlepoint!!
There’s no needlepoint in the box, just directions & thread!!! What do I do now??

Dimensions at its best
This is one of the newer printings of this kit. The paper is more glossy and a little thicker than typically included with a Dinensions. You get 2 cards or floss and a cut of raw edge 18 count ivory Aida. The kit included two needles, one of which broke pretty quickly. The head tends to be sharp so be careful using them.

For experienced cross stitchers only
I've been cross stitching for almost 30 years. This is the first one I'm actually making for myself. This pattern is very easy to read, I'm just not crazy about the 18 count cloth. I normally use 14; perhaps 16 would be a happy medium, still fine stitches but easier to see. One person gave this one star because the cloth was blank. Well that is the point of COUNTED cross stitch - you count the squares to see where to stitch. That person should be looking for STAMPED cross stitch.Step 1 before anything else, take the thread off the organizer and put them on labeled bobbins. I redid the legend in an Excel spreadsheet and put them in numerical color code order, my threads are also in numerical order in the craft box. This makes finding your colors much easier and keeps the threads from getting knotted.DO NOT cut the threads in half as they suggest, this will result in a lot of waste and the thread that's too short to work with very quickly.I just started it and I'm well aware it will take a long time and that's fine with me
