Hi Marley S. This dissolved oxygen test kit is a titration method. You need to add the reagent#1-3 following the instruction at back side of the box and then titrate by the reagent#T and count the number of drop that you turn the water color from brown/yellow to clear/transparent. Each drop that you add is equal to 0.5 ppm of dissolved oxygen that you have in the water sample. Do we get msds sheets for the solutions? are these safe for a youth hands on application?

Hi Scott, The solution is a chemical based solution. We recommend to avoid the solution to contact to your skin. Please remove and wash it by water after skin contact.
