I will update the review if they shrink after we wash, but they seem ridiculously large. We have twins who are 22 months old, 34 lbs, and in the 90th/95th percentile for height, weight, head, etc, so they are not small for their age at all. We ordered the XL to correspond to manufacturer's recommendation for age/weight. When I opened them up I thought they looked big enough to fit a 4 year old! The neck hole is huge & both nights we have ended up with one of the twins pulling their arm out of the arm hole and putting it through the neck hole (no discomfort experienced, but still not ideal). We bought these in the hopes of keeping these guys from climbing out of their cribs, which seemed to work at first but this morning I did find one twin in the other's crib, so it may be short lived. I wonder if we had bought a size down if it would have been better. I am giving 4 stars because it is still a good deal as compared to other options, and seems to be made well enough.*update- did not shrink after washing. I ended up tying the bottom to make it smaller. The zipper does zip from the top up but that may be the case with all of these types of products, I am not sure. You get used to it though.
