I highly recommend this sencha for first time green tea drinkers. I’d been wanting to start drinking green tea for the antioxidants, but I’m just not a hot tea drinker. I was also worried about bitterness. I was sooooo pleasantly surprised by the taste of this sencha! It’s mild and smooth, not bitter at all. Don’t worry, it’s not “earthy” like matcha. Not too grassy, either. I brew 2 tea bags in a large mason jar and refrigerate overnight. It produces a beautiful medium green color. I only drink this tea cold, and I love it! I drink at least 2 tea bags every day. The caffeine content is noticeable enough to give me a boost on work mornings. Very good quality and value. We’ve purchased this multiple times, and the tea bags have all been well made with no tears. Love that this tea is organic and sourced from Japan.

This tea tastes really good! Got my family to like it as well! Put some honey and lemon and you got yourself a medicine ball!

My sister likes it. She said a little weak on the flavor she has to use 2 bags per cup.

I purchased this hoping that it would taste like the tea that I drink in my favorite Japanese restaurant. The description of this tea led me to believe that it would. It is basically tasteless, and it’s just like drinking hot water with a slight taste of green tea.

I buy loose leaf tea because I prefer the robust flavors of larger, higher quality tea leaves. This is not that. It’s mostly tiny pieces with a few bigger leaves thrown in to make it look better. You can tell by just holding the envelope and feeling how dense it is that it’s mostly tiny pieces. I use an electric kettle set to 180F to not scald green tea, and yet this tea still brews up bitter and sour. I have had sencha loose leaf tea before and it has a subtle earthy, nutty flavor to it. This is missing that completely. It tastes like making tea with lawn clippings. This is probably the most unpleasant green tea I’ve purchased on Amazon to date. Update: I contacted the seller, and complained about the quality of the tea and asked for a refund and they were happy to refund me. I'm updating my review to 3 stars for the excellent customer service. Still can't recommend their Sencha, though.
