Shomer Emunim: The Introduction to Kabbalah (English and Hebrew Edition)

Phenomenal
Not only is the book translation (of Sefer Emumim) outstanding but the Kabbalah overview in the last half of the book by the author is a masterpiece it’s own right. The latter synthesized very complex Kabbalistic concepts and made them accessible. The book is sourced meticulously, and the footnotes themselves are very rich in content. For the English reader who is familiar with the writings of Rabbis Aryeh Kaplan and Yechiel Barlev, this book (the translated work and the author’s overview of Kabbalah) is a natural, stepping stone to a deeper understanding of true Kabbalah. And for those who have learned books (sefers) in original Hebrew/Aramaic such as the Zohar, Eitz Chaim, etc. they will undoubtedly gain a deeper level of understanding of the many intricate concepts that are taught in these works. This is truly remarkable book.

Great overview of Kabbalah!
I’ve enjoyed studying this excellent work. It’s two books in one - the author’s Kabbalah Overview is an excellent study guide to the most complex concepts. With modern analogies and metaphors, the principles of this primordial teaching become lucid.Much gratitude to the author and all involved in it’s production and distribution.

I just want to thank Avinoam Fraenkel to translate and comment this wonderful book. The translation is superb and the Introduction is worth the price of the book.

excellent
I'm so grateful for a Hebrew/Engish edition and all of the explanation. Thank you! I am taking my time and learning it bit by bit. A couple pages at a time. I learn other things with teachers and I feel this gives me a bit of grounding to review and deepen my understanding of their references. Highly recommended for someone who wants to learn and understand the penimius of the workings of HaShem's creations. Not for a true beginner they need a teacher.

Impressive at an affordable price
This is a large, impressive and historical introduction to the Kabbalah at an affordable price. If the reader does not like or is not used to the Talmud and Torah way to learn the Kabbalah then this book will be a little bit difficult because it is a discussion between two Rabbis. One of the Rabbis is not a Kabbalist, therefore, the Kabbalah is explained and demonstrated from the classic sources of the Jewish wisdom. Any additional effort to learn the Kabbalah from books like this one will be rewarded with pearls of wisdom from above.

Very Important
This book is not necessarily for the beginner but could be used as a companion to your studies. For those who have some experience with the terminology and have already been introduced to Kabbalah then you will gleam much from this book in terms of organizing thoughts and a clearer understanding. The references are ideal if you wish to focus more intensely on a particular subject.
