Lose the shame, love your brain, and live better with ADHD. "This is the best kind of ADHD book. You can open it up to any random page and find practical, actionable ideas. And those ideas are shared in a relatable, easy-to-understand style that makes you want to apply them!"--Brendan Mahan, MEd, MS, host of the ADHD Essentials podcast If you have attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), your brain doesn't work in the same way as a "normal" or neurotypical brain does because it's wired differently. This difference in circuitry is not somehow wrong, incomplete, or shameful. However, it does present you with significant challenges like time management, organization skills, forgetfulness, trouble completing tasks, mood swings, and relationship problems. In Your Brain's Not Broken , Dr. Tamara Rosier applies her years of coaching others to explain how ADHD affects every aspect of your life so that you can ● understand why you think, feel, and act the way you do ● dramatically improve your personal and professional life and relationships ● learn how your ADHD brain understands time, energy, and motivation ● take charge of your emotions, thought patterns, and actions for your overall emotional health ● implement practical ways to improve your ADHD and neurodivergent symptoms Anyone with ADHD--as well as anyone who lives with or loves someone with ADHD--will find here a compassionate, encouraging guide to living well and with hope. Also Available: Your Brain's Not Broken Workbook , a practical and interactive companion workbook that helps you apply these learnings to your own life. Review: This book is awesome, well worth the read. - I learned I had ADHD in late 2021 and actually had an ego death becasue it completely flipped my view of my life upside down. That was a tumultuous time in my life and this book shed light on it and gave me insight into my own mind and past. I saw that ADHD traits were in my family members' lives, and many of my friends' lives (surprise surprise, people with ADHD whether they know they have it or not tend to gravitate to others with ADHD whether they know it or not). Yeah this book has a lot to offer. I need to re-read it and reimplement its wisdom into my life! I didn't take enough notes the first time I read it, but the 4 color system for tasks has been forever ingrained in my mind and I have used that in my task management to categorize tasks ever since I read it. I thank God for this book it is sincerely awesome. I can recommend it to anyone wanting to understand ADHD in themselves or in their friends or family members from a down-to earth perspective. Review: Engaging and thoughtful - Engaging and thoughtful, I found this book useful and thoroughly enjoyed reading it. Highly recommended!

First book I've read on ADHD and I like it
I was recently diagnosed with ADHD and this was the first book that I've read on the subject. It's very optimistic and she gives practical advice on not only managing symptoms, like emotional deregulation, but thriving instead of just surviving. Im happy that I bought it and I will be rereading it again soon. Good luck to all of the ADHD people out there. This is a great place to start

Excellent Work
This might be the best book I’ve ever read on a subject. I was recently diagnosed with ADHD in October and this book is about me and those of us with ADHD. As I read each passage I would say “that’s me”. It’s a life change! It lets me resons why about my past and present and about future solutions for my ADHD condition. This is one of the best books I’ve ever read!

I'm going through the exercise book as well
It's a good combination to try. I find the exercise book useful and engaging. Being highly skeptical in general, this is a huge sign that these might work for you as well. I'm a 59-year-old woman who was only diagnosed 23 years ago.

Well written, just buy and read!
Excellent book! I have ADHD and have known that since I was in middle school. This book helps put words to a lot of things I've always known but haven't said so simply. It's nice when someone so knowledgeable can articulate in a way regular people can easily understand. I highly recommend this book to anyone like me or who spends time with anyone who has ADHD. Buy it!

Get ready to actually get some help from this book!
I am an adult woman who has struggled with ADHD through my life. I still struggle with the embarrassment it has caused me and the pain of not being able to be who I thought I could become had I not had this monkey on my back--or brain? I have invested in different counselors and many books. I found out about this author from attending a seminar where she was the guest speaker. I am 63 years old and I have never found anything as enlightening and wonderful as this book and the wonderful doctor who wrote this book!! I will be forever grateful because not only do her explanations help you to understand your brain, but the ideas presented and the suggestions are SO helpful that I feel like I have FINALLY found REAL help!!! So much so that I donated my other books on the subject--and I had a small library full. I wish Dr. Rosier would write more. I want more! I want to learn more ways to manage my life and my self. While I am not through the whole book, it's been so helpful that I find myself savoring it and really, really thinking about what she's said. I honestly don't recall anything religious about this book. I have found nothing offensive at all. Quite the opposite! If you're struggling and you're trying to understand yourself (or a family member or friend), and you're trying to help yourself, this is the book for you! It's a easy read yet very informative!! I will be eternally grateful to Dr. Rosier for her writings in Additude magazine and the guest appearance she made through the seminar which introduced me to her and her philosophies. Oh..one last thing..she has ADHD. She totally understands the struggles. She is very, very kind, supportive and compassionate. One of the best books I've bought!!! SO happy!!! SO grateful!!!!

Practical, Engaging - great tips and wonderful stories
I appreciated the balance in this book - clear concepts; discussion of real issues for those with ADHD or those who love them - and what to do about it; practical application from actual coaching, and wonderful stories that give humanity to the challenges of this community (of which I am a part). I felt seen, valued - and hopeful. Marvelous balance of science, experience with actual clients, and anecdotes that were warm, inspiring and challenging. Practical application tools - worksheets, questions, models - right in the book! The author could have made a companion workbook but included it all right here. Rich, varied and diverse sources of research, information, metaphors, and examples - from Alice in Wonderland to research articles to sound theory to Dr. Who! And - written in a way so it doesn't bog down in just one area. A quick snippet of research to add credibility, the framing of a concept to build understand, then a story/anecdote to illustrate. Makes the book highly readable. Well done. I highly recommend, and have not only read it twice myself, but also sent it out to a number of friends and colleagues. (And - can't seem to find the overt religiosity referenced by another review? Are we reading the same book? None of the other reviews seem mention it either?) A great read!

Thank you Tamara for sharing all these insights, stories and tips in this book. I felt the empathy though all of it and the strong message of the title. It was a easy but so helpful read. So thankful for people like you who are dedicated to support in such a kind, inspirational and at the same timepragmatic way.

A Must-Read for ADHDers &CO. : Practical, Personal, and Relatable
I’m only on Chapter 3, but I’m already giving it 5 stars! As someone recently diagnosed with ADHD in adulthood, I’ve read a few books on the subject (6, to be exact). This one stands out because it feels incredibly tailored to individuals like me who are looking for actionable strategies to manage ADHD. Unlike other books that are either too basic or too theoretical, Rosier strikes the perfect balance. What I love most is that it offers real, practical solutions, exercises, and self-assessment questions that you can incorporate into your daily life. These suggestions feel grounded and achievable, not like an overwhelming list of abstract concepts. The book also has a wonderful narrative quality, thanks to the personal anecdotes and patient stories scattered throughout. These stories really help bring the content to life, offering a deeper connection by addressing both the general and more specific struggles ADHDers often face; issues that can sometimes get overlooked in other ADHD books. For fellow ADHDers (and bookworms), I’d also like to highlight the excellent paper quality. It makes note-taking a breeze, and the pages hold up even when you need to erase, which is usually a nightmare. I'm also attaching my personal index for those it might help. This book isn't just for those with ADHD, it's also a valuable resource for family members, friends, and partners who want to better understand and support someone with ADHD. Tamara Rosier offers insights that will help loved ones connect, empathize, and offer meaningful support, making it a great tool for improving relationships and communication. Personally, I'm passing it to my mother, who still thinks I'm oversensitive, lazy and irresponsible😅. The only thing is I wish it were translated in different languages as well. It's such public service book.

So eye opening.
Well I get it now. So this is why I am how I am. Now the work begins. A great read for adults with ADHD, especially people diagnosed late in life.
