I wanted to like these but.....
These BASN in-ear monitors (IEMs) came well recommended so I was eager to try them out.I have to say that the packaging is absolutely fabulous and is made from a high-quality coated cardboard with gold foil printing with one of the buds on display through a cut-out in the outer sleeve. The inner box has a magnetically latched lid that opens to reveal two smaller boxes. One holds a silver-finished zippable shell storage case which contains a large selection of different sized ear-tips and accessories. The case has a beige interior which aids visibility and has webbing pouches on both sides to hold the IEMs and whatever adapters you might need. The other box holds the IEMs. A slide-out drawer beneath opens to reveal two cardboard pouches containing a 'regular' cord and a cord that has a microphone built in for use with a cellphone. It's an impressive presentation. The IEMs themselves are nicely shaped with rounded edges making for a comfortable fit. I like the blue marble effect finish on them too. The inner side is transparent. I do have a complaint about the lack of visibility of the Right and Left markings - they are printed in silver and are very small and are difficult to see even when I know where they are. This is a complaint I have with many IEMs. I know they are directional so you can work out which one goes in each ear but, for heaven's sake manufacturers, PLEASE follow convention and put a small red dot on the Right monitor where it can be seen easily and remove any doubt.I selected the non-microphone cable which has a braided plastic material that resists tangling. The provided connection is a 3.5mm plug unbalanced type which is the 'universal' cellphone style.I listen mostly from my Android phone through a Hidizs DH80s balanced DAC which I highly recommend for it's truly excellent sound quality (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B095PFDZT8) and I eagerly hooked the IEMs up through the unbalanced 3.5mm output. The BASNs sound warm and mellow and are reasonably dynamic. I did find that a bit of EQ was necessary to compensate for the U-shaped presentation (repressed mid-range). They are definitely easy to listen to for extended periods but they lacked the presence of some of my other IEMs and I felt that separation could be better. The bass was there but wasn't as controlled and tight as I like. Hmmm. I ran them overnight to break the drivers in but there was no appreciable change in the sound. Here's where things took a turn for the worse. I decided to connect my Linsoul Tripowin balanced cable (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07ZQD2Z5H) to see if running the BASNs in that mode opened the sound up any. The MMCX connectors (the ones that connect to the IEMs) are meant to be universal but when I pressed the connector onto the earbud, it was tight. I applied a little more pressure and the connector in the BASN gave way. Worse, not only was the bud now useless, it also broke my balanced cable. I know the cable wasn't the issue, because it fits all my other IEMs.I ordered another balanced cable and returned the first set of BASNs. When the replacements were delivered, I immediately tested them to see if the connectors on the balanced cable would fit. They did. However, when I tried to connect the supplied cables, they wouldn't push into place correctly. I applied moderate pressure but no-go. Being afraid of repeating the previous experience, I didn't push any harder so I now have a set of IEMs that can only be used in balanced mode, which is a shame, because the warm sound of these monitors would really suit being used in unbalanced mode and connected directly to a 3.5mm phone jack. So, it would appear that there is a manufacturing tolerances issue - the first set worked with the supplied cables but wouldn't work with a different manufacturer's cable and the second set worked with the third party cable but not with either of the supplied cables. Not good. The sound did improve using the balanced cable which introduced more 'air' around the performance. The bass was still weak so I replaced the tips with some foam Comply Comfort tips (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B002DY92UA) and they really worked wonders and firmed up the bass. All in all, these are not bad IEM's and if you like a warmer, more relaxed sound they should work well for you. However, as compared to my favorite go-to IEMs, the truly excellent sounding and superb value KZ ZS10 Pro (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07QKYTGH9), they do lack a sense of involvement, dynamics and an ability to get 'inside' the music.Overall, I'm somewhat disappointed and would rate them as 2.5 stars, rounded to 3, deducting points for the sound quality, the build inconsistencies and the fact it cost me a balanced cable.

Sound great and well worth the money.
I was skeptical about the quality since the price is so much less than other monitors. I was very happy when I used these the first time at a gig. I’m a keyboard/guitar player and I thought the clarity on my keys was excellent. Much more low end then my current in ear monitors. I am very satisfied with the product.

Totally worth the cost! They sound amazing!
These in ears were put to the test the other night for the first time. Let me tell you, I’ve tried other in ears. And I needed a set of triple drivers on a whim without dropping a ton of money. Well, I’m glad I bought these! They exceeded my expectations and have recommended them to other band member and musician friends. Don’t be shy! They are worth it!

Excellent
I'm not an audiophile so most professional headphone reviews fly right over my head, but in the past year I've tested 100+ over ear headphones, earbuds, gaming headsets and IEMs, and while I don't have the technical knowledge to describe it I know what I like.I really, really like these headphones. I've tested several BASN products in the past, and while I've enjoyed the sound from all of them they've all been a little too specialised for my needs. I'm not a musician and don't need a pair of reference headphones, and I find that most IEMs lean a little too close to reference for my liking. These don't, to my ear. The sound is wonderfully warm and rich, easily the equal of consumer headphones that retail at multiples of these things. I could very easily use these as my every day headphones. It's not just the sound quality that makes these more suitable than most BASNs for the average listener. The physical noise isolation offered by the close fit is spectacular (as my wife will attest; she spent a couple of minutes calling my name as I was testing them, and I didn't hear a peep). Sounds such as keystrokes will be almost completely blocked, so these are ideal to use while typing.I can't say I'm a big fan of the cables, which are relatively inflexible and designed to hook semi-securely over the ears, but this is a feature of virtually all IEMs, not just BASN products, so I guess it's no big deal. I'll get used to it.Finally, the package is pretty special This is a very giftable pair of headphones, great looking and well presented.I'm going back and forth between 4 and 5 stars, but I'm in a good mood so I'll say they just about scrape into the top tier. I'd happily recommend them.

Great with my Yeti mic
I'm not a professional musician or anything like that. But thanks to covid I work from home and now have a mini studio at my PC for some video work I have to do. So I end up buying a lot of gear that professionals use and I have to figure out as a novice (like studio lighting). I've recently been trying to up my sound game. Normally I'd use the mic with the speakers because I can noise gate out the background noise. I can't wear big headphones because I don't want them visible on video. Then I was listening to a gaming podcast that also does video and one of the hosts talked about using monitor headphones (it was Vinny from Nextlander if you're curious) I realized that might be a good answer. These have been great since. I can monitor my audio finally at least at a basic level. I can also hide the wires behind my neck. The buds are comfortable but I really appreciate how many ear tips they've included, even foam ones. Fit is so important and personal and yes you can buy your own foam tips if you need to but it's nice that there are a lot of options included out of the gate.So yeah, I'm not using these for the great audio they are probably intended for - it's mostly zoom calls and some video production. Regardless, they've been fantastic for what I need them for. If it weren't for that podcast, I don't think I would have considered something on this level but turns out it was a great idea. As a novice they were easy to figure out and now I don't have sound bleed coming into my mic.
