The rod holder looks very well built and installation was very easy - I used a forstner bit on my drill to drill the center post hole, dropped the base into the hole, marked the four screw/nut holes and fastened it to the kayak. The nuts are the nylon centered lock style nuts and the hardware was nicely plated. The rod holder can swivel to turn by lifting a bit, turning and dropping back in the center post.
