Will this work on a 62 thrust motor, or is there another model to work with the larger than 55?

Writing in 5/22: After looking at the manf. Info, I thought when I bought this rudder for my 62lb thrust Newport Vessel I would have to find a larger clasp or longer screws; however pls note that everything from the box/bag worked perfectly well. It works just fine without any modification or additional hardware. Yes, it DOES WORK for the 6lb thrust Newport Vessel.

Does anyone know the screw size on these? I received one that was short one mounting screw due to a small hole in the bag and I'd like to replace

Will this rudder collect more grass and weeds aaround the shaft?

I don’t try to power through a lot of weeds & grass with a trolling motor, but it would seem to be a physical impossibility to add anything (other than a knife blade) to the shaft of your trolling motor & NOT collect more aquatic trash/detritus. Just my opinion, I may be wrong.

How well should this work on a trolling motor mounted out to the side of a kayak instead of directly behind?

depending on what you are after, steering will be different because of the location. If you are after stability for side drift it will work the same.
