In my earlier review I thought the product, although a good product, had not completely provided the results I wanted. Not that it failed. I just assumed the guitar's finish was far too gone for this product. I was totally wrong. Initially, I bought this wax to help restore the finish of a used Gibson ES-137. I bought the guitar online and was not able to clearly see the actual wear on the top's finish. It was disappointing for such a beautiful instrument. The guitar had been gigged with for years and left the finish worn and faded on the upper portions of the body. I used the wax according to the directions and applied several coats followed by buffing. The guitar's finish showed some improvement but did not entirely restore the luster of the original finish. I put it away and contemplated other options. I checked the guitar again this morning and I couldn't believe my eyes. The finish looks almost new! This guitar is a blue burst and the fading of the finish was readily visible when I started out. Today it looks perfect. I was absolutely stunned. Maybe it helps to let it rest overnight. This used and well gigged guitar now looks almost new again. This product is amazing. 5 stars? I'd give it 6 if I could. I applied 3 coats to each of my guitars and I really like the results. It fills in tiny imperfections and definitely adds a layer of protection.
