Could be titled, "How to Shoot Par"
This book is the quintessential "when the student is ready, the master will appear" book. This book is not for everyone, seeing as out of the 115 pages that make up the book, less than 3 are really about any sort of technique. This book is about the mental side of the game, how a player can break through to that next level of golf (ie. breaking par for the first time, breaking 80, etc..), and win tournaments. The reader is taken to a remote golf course in Iowa, where we are introduced to John Smith, a frustrated golfer. The enlightened teacher he meets is named Linc St. Clair. Despite the requests of Smith, St. Clair makes it very clear that these lessons will not be about technique. He makes it very clear right off the bat that traditional, or classic, technique is important but will only get you so far. It is playing Quantum Golf that will get you to the next level. Our hero goes through a series of lessons that dramatically improve his game from that point forward. The first is feeling, then the teacher moves on to other lessons that compound on the first lesson. The point of the lessons are to get all of the analytical thoughts out of John's head. The teacher wants John to experience the feeling of a balanced, smooth swing. When thoughts of technique are removed, all you're left with is the swing. You just hit the ball. The book is a fascinating story, one that I can personally relate to, and a quick read. I think I finished the whole book in a couple of hours. The imagery found within this book, along with the breathing exercises, make for some great takeaways for when you're out on the course again. Shooting par is not about left hand here, right shoulder there. It's just about playing golf. This book reveals that type of thinking through Linc St. Clair, as he in turn conveys the message to an average golfer just trying to break through to the next level of golf.Like I said, I don't think this book is necessarily for beginners. There is little, if any talk of technique in this book, and for good reason. If you're a golf who's trying to break 80, or trying to break par for the first time, or you're wondering a little bit about the mental side of the game, I would recommend this book. But the fact is, if you've never picked up a golf club, you do need to learn technique. Even "naturals" like Tiger woods, Rickie Fowler, etc.. went through a long period of trial and error before they could go out and play well in difficult conditions. The crossover period, however, is when you've read the books, played with great players, and you want to go out and win tournaments and shoot low scores. At that point, thinking about technique will do more harm than good. What this book does is it completely removes any thought of technique from your head, and plants the idea in your mind that the absence of analysis equals good golf. It's a really great message, but not one you should believe the first time you pick up a club.If you're looking for a golf book to set your mental game right, this book is for you.

For the seasoned golfer
This book already assumes you have a good swing or can produce one. It has a simple and straightforward message that anyone can use, however I would know how to swing before applying it to your game

helpful for tennis?
I'm a tennis player, not a golfer. However, a tennis instructor had recommended Quantum. The premise, i.e., quit focusing on a list of mechanical steps to the swing (stroke) and let your body do its thing, is sound but the story imparted is childish and becomes more doubtful with every chapter.

Captivating read, yet educational. Amazing writing.
An amazing read! I could never get through most golf books. They all take that very technical "do this, do that. Don't do this, don't do that" approach and it really bores you. This reads like a beautiful story, as a beginner this was such a fun read and gave me a lot of insight about the game without boring me to death. The author will draw you into the story and you won't want to put down the book. It is captivating, yet educational.

A little book to one of golfs greatest secrets
I'm not going to spill the beans on what is within this book but I will say this, if you want to break 80, if you want to be a single-digit handicaper, if you want to improve your game, you need to spend time on the mental aspect. Have you ever birdied a hole in golf? If you answered yes, you already have the physical capability to be a scratch or better player. Are you? If the answer is no, then what is lacking in your golf game is between your ears. This book is a golf secret amongst many circles. Super fluid.

Letting go...and letting God.
This is an extremely helpful book on golf, and on living. Good mechanical fundamentals are necessary, no doubt, but having a hundred swing thoughts only restricts the natural flow of the golf swing. Practicing the ideas, and the drills, presented in this little gem can free up your golf game, and get you focused solely on hitting your target, on each and every shot. If you have studied Hogan, Nicklaus, Nelson, Penick, and the other instruction standards, this is the one that could take you to the next level. Enjoy.

Cosmic Golf!
One of the most influential books I've ever read! it brought me back to TM and really helped my game. Golf is the greatest game ever and and this book will help you....keep in mind that there is very little if any instruction on swing mechanics.

Amazing
I am an avid golfer and carry a single digit handicap. This book offers nothing technical, but rather only a handful of amazingly simple mental suggestions, that actually work. As with everything in golf, nothing is perfect but I have learned to relax and enjoy the game better than ever before by using the swing thoughts presented in this book. Give it a try. You won't be disappointed.

Fantastic little book
Not an easy book to get hold of now but well worth seeking out. It's a fantastic little book that addresses some of the mental issues we face when playing golf. Told, very cleverly, as a parable it is unlike any other golf book I have read. It is especially well suited for those of us that are trying a bit too hard and are not meeting our full potential.I have been close to breaking 90 for over 6 months but unfortunately no breakthrough. A week after reading this book I finally broke 90 - it might have happened anyway but I think a lot of it was down to the book and the superfluid swing technique.Try it, I can't recommend it highly enough!

As close to the magic bullet as a golf book can get.
This can really transform your sports performance. Shows how to unlock the abilities you may not have thought you had. It really does work. Well written too.
