I also use it under my high performance laptop to keep it cool and this does it so so so well. No laptop fans buzzing all the time. Instead with two of these fans running in my office I barely notice them. The noise at best is white noise, but when you're working or on a call I would challenge you to hear them going. Cons: I am not a fan of the button control. I know why it was done this way, but I'm not a fan of it. When the power goes off, this won't turn back on. So that is a major bummer. I get away with it using UPS units, but a rocker switch would have made more sense.
