so far, so good
My first pair of 5-10s and I'm lovin em. Now I understand what real grip is. So sticky compared to my RC Powerlines, and Etnie Semenuk Pros, and don't get me started with my Shimano GR 903. Those first 2 grip ok and are very comfortable for my feet, but the Shimano sole is firm and really needs the Shimano pin pattern to work well. Totally slides off my Spesh Bennies until I'm able to wiggle the pins between the knobs. These 5-10s have a comfortable average fit at the heel and midfoot and very slightly roomy at the ball. Protection seems good all around and up on the inner ankle. Sole is stiff and damp enough with decent pedal feel. The Powerlines are comfy, stiff and protective too, but pedal feel is a bit numb. The Etnies are very comfy with good pedal feel and nice ankle protection, but the softer less grippy sole is for a different use. Also, no toe protection. I've only used them 2x and it's been cold so my foot has not been full size and there seems to be room. The high cuff has kept out all debris. The overall fit and finish is very good. Very happy so far. The only issue is putting them on. The cuff is stretchy but a bit tight. Fortunately my socks are a bit slippery on the outside and not bulky, and there are pull loops to grab on the front and back of the cuff. Would be nice if the cuff material was more elastic but I understand it has to pull back against the leg to block debris. Easily my favorite shoe for the trail riding I do, but it's Dec. and these might be too warm in the summer.

-1 point due to difficulty of putting it on
The only reason why I’m not giving a 5 because of the difficulty in putting it on , otherwise once it’s on it feels very nice to the feet , and never slips on the pedal .

Game changer! Had almost a year and plan to buy again.
These things are amazing. All my buddies that helped me get better at MTB with skills had Five Tens and I didn't want to believe the hype. First couple rides it was hard to get used to how much they made you'd feet stick the Pedals, but after two rides I was loving them. I would recommend walking around in them at work or just around for a day or two to break them in, they were a little stiff at first. I love the ankle protection, makes me feel more stable and keeps ankles from getting those pointy ankle bones from taking some hits from the frame, chain and technical areas. Recommended them to a friend and he bought to pairs and loves them just as much.
