    Ok but using real pimento wood is much better

Used these pucks to make jerk on my grill. I usually use real pimento wood but thought I would try this instead. These pucks give a good smell however the smoke is weak and after 10 minutes or so the pucks just crumble to dust.  If you want that true jerk flavor stick with using real pimento wood chips. It was worth a shot but just didn't meet expectations. Using pimento wood is so much better but I guess these could be handy if you were traveling but thats about it.

I've been searching for something like this to use in a gas grill when I make jerk chicken.After running some water over them for 8-10 seconds, I put six of these briquets in a little cast iron smoking box, right on the Weber flavor bars. Once the heat stabilized, and smoke was starting to appear, I put my jerk-marinated chicken on the grill right over the smoking box.These little briquets produced great smoke. My chicken turned out just fantastic, just like the real thing in Jamaica.The flavor of the smoke was very noticeable in the chicken, and very different from the usual hickory or fruitwood chips. Highly recommended!
