The texture is what I'd call "medium", where you can put a glob on your palm and it will hold its shape, without being so thick as to feel like it's some sort of mask when applied. Working it into your skin is very easy, but I've found that it is important to work it in to completion. If you stop early it might end up feeling a bit unpleasant, and working it in only takes a few seconds, so it's worth the time. I typically use a dime-sized amount for my face and neck every morning and night, and that's plenty. Since using this moisturizer I can honestly say my skin feels noticeably "better", and I'm extremely happy with the results. In my opinion, I believe most moisturizers will work fine...with the caveat that you are not allergic to any ingredient in them, that you like the feel of it, the scent or unscented, and that you use it regularly. I have used other moisturizers, and quite honestly, I really can't tell any difference on/in my skin. What I can say is that I like the texture, how it spreads, the non oily/greasy feel, and the little to no scent it has. I have used Anthony, Clinique, Nivea, and several others. For non SFP moisturizer, I like the Baxter of California best.
