What is the diameter of the loop, the part the goes threw what you are locking?

I don't have anything to measure the size of the "loop". However, with the hasp closed the lock fits through. I can insert a 1/8 inch drill bit through the closed hasp opening. The next size up, a 9/64 inch bit will not fit. I am using RDEXP Vintage Bronze Zinc Alloy Butterfly Design Drawer Box Hasp Lock Latch. Found them on Amazon. Yes, they work great. I actually bought 2 sets (different orders). Unfortunately, one out of the set of 3 won't work. Easy enough for my 4 year old grandson to use to unlock his treasure box.
