I’m reviewing the Lamy Safari Charcoal rollerball pen model 317. The true test of any pen is how it writes and what’s not to love about this gem of a writing instrument? I chose medium point black ink. The rollerball makes for an even, smooth, dark line that is perfect for any writing task including journaling, signing important documents or note taking to name a few. If how a pen writes is the most important feature of an ink pen, the next is how it feels in the hand. The injection molded plastic with a matte finish feels perfect in the hand and makes the 317 Safari a pleasure to write with. The only weak point I might find with the Safari is it may not write well on carbon paper which needs sufficient pressure to reach the additional pages. Luckily, most people probably don’t even know what carbon paper is. Great looking, durable and possibly the best writing pen I’ve ever held make this a no brainer for anyone looking for a quality pen without breaking the bank.

Pen was fine, but the package arrived in bad condition. It’s a shame, since I purchased it for a gift. I’m removing 1 star because of it.

Big chef kiss *** to Lamy for a beautifully designed pen that creates an a true joy of writing. Well-balanced, light but comfortable tool that literally glides across the page. I was originally inspired to give it a try when I used the Lamy Safari Vista stylus with my new Supernote Manta. I really like the triangular barrel with a finger placement close to the tip, which I prefer for better control. Makes my teacher quality penmanship look even better!

This is one of the rare Lamy Safari Rollerballs that has the nice eggshell texture to it. Most Safaris have a very glossy and smooth finish, but I pretty a little texture. I always recommend to replace their OEM ink with a Schmidt 5888, which is more consistent and smooth.

Writes a smooth, dark, but not-too-thick line. Comfortable to hold with flat surfaces on three sides of an otherwise round barrel.

I know that Lamy gets a lot of love out there and I get that. I like the look of the pen and I like the overall design however for me personally, I just don’t care for the grip section on this. I find in my fingers tend to just slide down, and I still end up right at the above the tip of the pen. I prefer to be able to put my fingers where I’d like them to be. That being said construction wise, this is a great pen and I like the look of it but it’s not my favorite. The rollerball refill while decent is not my favorite either but I think that’s more just a personal preference. It writes fine has a fairly bold, vivid line, but it seems as if I have to press down on this pen more like a ballpoint that I do with let’s say a pilot G2 , or an energel pen so I don’t personally consider to be a great pen

Reasonably priced, great pen for writing

As expected, really comfy to write with in terms of the grip and weight. Love the matte finish, looks and feels unique. The prescribed refill from Lamy, the M63 is not that great, would recommend getting the Pentel energel refill instead. Overall, get this if you dig the design and grip.

Glücklicherweise war der Stift selbst in einwandfreiem Zustand, ohne jegliche Kratzer oder andere Makel. Ein großes Plus ist der unschlagbare Preis von nur 14 €. Für die Qualität, die man hier bekommt, ist das ein echtes Schnäppchen. Der Lamy Safari Vista kombiniert Stil, Komfort und Funktionalität auf perfekte Weise und bietet ein hervorragendes Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis. Ein echter Geheimtipp, den ich gerne wieder kaufen würde!

Escribe muy suavemente. Lo compré para hacer un eyedropper mod a una pluma safari vista, pero se ve que han cambiado el diseño con los años y ya no es tan compatible como antes.
