Then change to the larger ball . It really helps expand your lungs and get the mucus up . My husband has severe chronic copd and finds it really helps. **Q: Received this today but no user booklet enclosed, does anyone know who I can get one from?** A: All of these devices are very similar. There are plenty of videos on YouTube etc. very simple to follow. The instructions are basically to place one ball into the cup, and to exhale through the device. To blow for as long as able, similar to the breathalyser (when seen on TV of course) - breathe in through the nose and repeat - try to do this for ten to fifteen minutes - not easy to do - you will feel the pressure pulsating through the device as you exhale - don’t forget to dry the unit after each use - condensation is massive **Q: I have now ordered this for my elderly father twice and each time there has been one ball, but it's stated 2? is it necessary to have 1 or 2?** A: Are you sure there is not one already inside the device? His usual way of dealing with it was to lie on his side to drain some fluid away and clear it out.When I bought this device, we were unsure as to how effective it would be, having never used anything of it's kind before.We were not disappointed !Since using it, hubby has been able to breathe more fully and feels better for it.He uses the device most mornings before getting up and it is becoming a routine which is not unpleasant and seems to be helping enormously.The mouthpiece is easily detached from the device for cleaning and the little bag provided makes it easy to store handily in a drawer.We were so impressed with the device we have purchased another for my elderly father too.Compared to others on the market, this little device is competitively priced and well worth the money ! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Works as described *by M***S on 7 March 2023* Had a chest infection recently. It certainly does 'something' when you get things right, you can feel it in your airways. I am just not entirely convinced that the thing it does is actually making a difference.
