Great papers, cost effective and good for the environment!

In terms of quality these are very good. Have given less than 5 stars because I have to cut them down to enable them to fit in the filter jug in my coffee machine (I admit that said machine is nearly 40 years old, so the size may be no longer obtainable). It is worth it though because value and price wise they are better than my local supermakret

Number four filters that do the job at a price that’s right

Surprisingly for something so simple, these don't work 80% of the time (estimate based on experience so far, not scientific). The seal is weak which means they break and the coffee ends up in the filter machine and the cup most of the time. I've only been using them a few days but will be reverting to my usual ones as soon as possible. I couldn't get the "300 Size 4 Coffee Filter Paper Cones, Unbleached by EDESIA ESPRESS" on next day delivery and was running out. I wouldn't recommend these.

These "Size 4 Coffee Filters, Pack of 200, Unbleached Coffee Filter Papers Cone, Disposable Paper Filters for Pour Over Coffee Dripper and Coffee Maker(8-12 Cup)" are similar but not identical to the branded filters used until now. Unbleached filters are commonly recommended for use in all filter machines. Unlike the pure white bleached filters once used, they do not affect the flavour of the brewed coffee, are slightly thicker and more robust while retaining most of the oils that can result in a bitter-tasting brew.In terms of performance, there was no immediately apparent flavour difference in the results obtained from these and the branded equivalents used thus far (other than the samples originally supplied with the machine) although the filters are thinner and marginally oversized. Of those used thus far, two were found to have either split at the bottom or were never properly sealed and thus created a mess within the mesh filter with a few grains still embedded and unable to be removed.The expectation was that as they are unbranded, they would be lower in price than branded alternatives but that proved not to be true; these are the more expensive by about 10% than the brand previously used of which none of over 300 used had split. On close examination, it was found that while these use a single bonding row, the branded ones have two parallel rows and that is presumably more secure. We shall revert to using the branded ones and the remainder of these held in reserve.
