not just for beginners
Although this pen is billed as a "beginners" pen it is just fine for experienced users of pens for sketching, note-taking, and any other writing. It is comfortable to hold, and the nibs work very well. So, yes they are convenient and easy to use for beginning fountain pen enthusiasts but I've used fountain pens for over 20 years and still like their simplicity. I pick them up in bulk, and they are cheap enough to not worry about losing one or breaking one.

Awesome Special Edition Preppy
I love ‘em, solid color preppy’s need to become a widespread thing. As for the pens themselves, they’re preppy’s, excellent in almost every way (except the converter price if you need one).

The all white look does well to remove the otherwise kiddy look Preppy's usually come in.
The provided ink is great. The nibs are also nice and smooth. The cap tolerance is a big strong so requires some force leaving your hand to go flying a little bit more than some other snap-on caps. The refills are pretty smart in that they have a metal ball agitator inside to always keep the ink ready to go. I've kept a pen capped for around 3 weeks and it has not dried out yet.Platinum also has a converter which I love. Very nice and easy to use, and actually holds a decent amount of ink. Seems solidly built and would recommend it for these pens, or basically any other. Makes cleanup an easy ordeal when swapping ink colors. The value of these pens is also really good. And they are well balanced even if you decide to post the cap on the back of the pen.One negative I have though, is the nib is somewhat tempermental if you don't keep mindful of the nib angle to the paper. You can sometimes have false-starts (to me it seems the nibs are finished a bit too fat, with the tines being extremely close to one another. I'm sure you can fix this, but I'm a normal user and not some fountain pen aficionado). This issue is obviously a problem on some inks, but not all. So your mileage may vary. But once it starts flowing, the ink does not let up as long as there is contact with the paper.Feedback is there, so you will feel the paper a tad, but thankfully feedback doesn't mean it's scratchy, or snagging like the feeling you get if the tines are uneven. It feels good, and is good if you want to use this pen in everyday situations, and not perhaps if you're someone who wants to be writing on an ice sheet levels of smooth like some emulsion-ink ballpoint pens of the modern era which are honestly just too slick.

Easy to crack
Great pecs for the money, but one cracked. The nibs are good, but are bigger than my other 03 Preppy pens.

Great edc pen when you don't feel like carrying one of your nicer pens.
It writes good on cheap paper and great on good paper. Cartridge lasts a while. The clip is the only weak part of this pen.

The caps should be called Crappy.
I am done with the Preppy pens. They write and feel fine. A great pen, but after six tries and the crappy pocket clip on EVERY one breaking, I won't buy another one. And it's not so much that they break, but when they eventually fail completely, I am left with a goofy looking pen that has a piece missing. I kept buying them hoping it will be corrected, but I am through.

Great version of the Preppy
I'm a huge fan of the preppy. I like the solid white instead of the demonstrator type body that a lot of the less expensive platinum pens have. I wish it had a soft grip for long write sessions but i have the same complaint of my pens over $100. Definitely would buy again

Lovely and exactly as expected
These pens were exactly as described and at an awesome price point for this collaboration. These are all fine nibs, although (for me) they seem to write more of a medium than an traditional Japanese fine.
