There is no commentary nor interpretation of the verses, they just appear as they are, first in Sanskrit, then in English. The book is a nice hardback (which appears to be durable), with a nice plastic dust jacket. Not that it is a big deal, but the cover I received was different from the one shown. The one shown is red with a chariot, and mine is yellow with Krsna on it. There are only two, black and white illustrations on the book. This is definitely the sort of book you can carry anywhere, for it is small and fits in your pocket easily. The price is affordable, considering it is a hardback book. This is definitely best version of the Bhagavad Gita there is, for it allows the reader to make his own mind regarding the text, without being influenced by someone's opinion. Gita press did a good job. Review: Perfect size to carry daily, or travel - I got this because the Gitas I had include longer commentaries and were too big to travel with. It's a great size, which fits easily into hoodie pockets, small spaces inside a backpack, etc. Pictured here beside an apple. I removed the dust jacket from this, which I think looks nicer. The translation is nice, although not as literal as some others like Swami Ramsukdas or Prabhupada. Shloka 9/22 is a good example, literal translations will translate "vahāmyaham" as "I carry"; the translation here is in another picture on my review.
