Exceeded Expectations
Whoever designed the manufacturing and packaging of this loft bed has a mind like a computer. A remarkably efficient package. There was not an extra screw or piece of packing material to be found. Every piece lined up without exception. I’d give the directions a B-. If you have more than a thimble of mechanical ability you should have no trouble assembling it.Cons:The price jumps around daily. I pulled the trigger at $327.50. I’ve seen it go over $600. I think it’s a good value anywhere in the range.I did have two double threaded metal sleeves pull out of the wood. The threads are opposite on the outside and fit the attached screws (righty tighty) on the inside threads. I figured out by using a small screw I could replace them into their fittings easily. Also, I did benefit from a rubber mallet assembling the large desk piece, and an electric drill installing the slats.Rubber wood, this is the first time I’ve heard of it or used it. It’s soft like pine. That’s not a bad thing, it’s just not hardwood. for those who mentioned smell, it briefly had the smell of painted wood… Exactly what you would expect. Regarding imperfections, I found the product well manufactured and without functional or notable cosmetic issues. If you’re looking for perfect drop $3000 at a retail store.

I LOVE this loft bed
I LOVE this loft bed/desk. It is great for a petite adult--a lot of the loft beds are designed for kids/teens, so it took awhile to find one that fit my needs, and this one is perfect. It saves so much space in my small NYC bedroom. The desk is the entire length of the bed, so it is a nice long well made desk. The espresso color is lovely. It is exactly what I was looking for.The assembly took me literally all day, but I did it alone and had never put together furniture before. If you have help and a little experience I'm sure it would take maybe 2-3 hours. It's a great purchase, if you want a nice desk and loft bed, this is a great one to get.

Great Bed, Huge Desktop & Very Sturdy
Definitely recommend this, great quality bed for a reasonable price. The only reason I gave it 4 stars insteadof 5 is that the wooden dowel pins are, for the most part, an appropriate length. However, since the manufacturer made all of the dowel pins the same length, the dowel pin which secures the desktop to theleg / gusset support (in the middle of the desk) is actually simply too long. This causes the pin to push past the "predrilled" hole depth allowance (on bottom side) and so cracking the desktop surface on theopposite side. Thankfully I simply loosened the steel bolts to allow myself to leave a gap between thegusset and desktop and I used folded cardboard "shims" so that I could subsequently tighten the steel bolts once more, making sure the assembly remained sturdy. Of course, I also had to "flatten" the bulgingcracking surface back down with a mallet and a towel (don't strike the bare surface, it will get damaged).

Unstable
I really wanted to like this bed. Putting it together was a lot work that is for sure. Our daughter wanted this to maximize space in her room. I am sad to report this bed last 3 months. All the bolts started to loosen within the first month. We had to constantly tighten things. By the end of month 2 she was afraid to go on the bed because of how unstable it had become in such a short time. Finally we decided that we will have to get her another bed to sleep on. We were really careful taking it apart thinking maybe could put it in storage until we could decide what to do with it. Unfortunately it is even harder to take apart than put together and the whole thing collapsed. Needless to say that was $500 thrown away. If it helps our daughter is 11 years old, 5'3 and weighs 105lbs.

Great Product!
I absolutely love this bed! The quality is great, looks amazing, and the assembly is straight forward and easy! My 11 year old daughter put her whole bed together by herself from reading the instructions, with me just stepping in to hold pieces here and there while she got the screws started on some steps. She is super excited about this bed and she has so much pride in the fact that she assembled it herself! I would definitely recommend this bed to anyone who needs a loft bed for a small room or just wants more functionality in the space they have available!

Sturdy.. But a pain to put together.
The instructions were odd and confusing at times. The parts werent always labeled and had to take apart a few times cause some were even labeled wrong! One of the screw pilot holes was too deep and the screw went RIGHT through the desk top. And yes the proper screw was used. All in all my son is happy, and I guess thats what matters, as its not my space. Its his.

Clear and easy instructions good quality
We ordered this loft bed with desk and it at first said it would ship Dec 4th. It came early so that is a plus, package is not light as well...it is a bed.Instructions were clear and easy to follow and provide good detail so you don't get things turned around. I was a little worried when ordering if it would be sturdy enough. I was plenty sturdy and things went together smoothly. It even had blocks to evenly space the slats for the mattress. We have 9ft ceilings in the bedrooms so height is not a problem but always double check you have the space as an older/taller kiddo with 8ft ceilings may have more limited space on the bed.
