Story Time Chess - Beginners Chess, Kids Chess Set with Book, Chess Game, Traditional Learning Board Games for Boys & Girls Ages 3-103

This is a truly magnificent game. It teaches the basics of chess in a simple and child friendly way. My daughter loves the stories, and laughs each time we read them. The additional option to add the characters from the stories to the chess pieces is a lovely touch. The mini games provide a great build up enabling young children to understand the moves of the chess pieces without getting confused. The final suggestion of an almost complete game chess without worrying about tactics needed for check and check mate is perfect for my daughter's age and capabilities. The board itself is great. I love the double sides with one being a traditional chess board and one having grass to complement the stories as well pictures of characters showing where each piece starts making setting up easy. We've had many hours of fun with this game and I am sure we will have many more. There are two expansion packs (level 2: strategy and level 3: tactics) which look equally as excellent. Unfortunately they do not seem to be available to buy in the UK so I've had to order from elsewhere (not yet received) but I am sure they will be equally as excellent.

This is an absolutely brilliant way to learn to play chess, my 6 year old has picked it up with ease after following the story. Very innovative, good work. The size is perfect for little hands and it is well worth the price.

Fantastic! My 4 year old absolutely loves the story and is learning really quickly how to play chess.

My Children love it. The pieces are large and easily handled. The Book is easy to read and well illustrated with several ‘games’ that you can play with them to teach them how each piece moves. The storyboard side lets the child learn quickly how to set the board up whilst the other side lets them progress later onto a ‘grown up board’ with square coordinates.

Wonderful product that enabled little one to learn the game of chess and the characters movements in a fun way and engaging way.

Love this game. Me and my 5 year old leant basic moves in a day. She played it from 8am to 3pm stopping only for lunch! It makes the complicated moves so easy and fun!! I really want the level 2 strategy book but can’t find it anywhere!! Please can the seller advise how I can get it?!?

We absolutely love this chess board! The story is a lovely touch to help teach children the pieces and their moves. My son has picked it up no bother and now enjoys a regular game of chess - he’s 5!
