Full review with links to other stuff you need
Not too proud to say that I am vain, and REALLY wanted to keep my dip nails up through this Corona virus crisis, so I took matters into my own hands and bought this kit (I will go back to the nail salon when this is over, because let’s face it, a lot of small businesses are really going to need our support). Back to the kit- overall, it’s awesome. It’s professional quality and it has all full size bottles and powders. While I have had the dip done at the salon many times, I had never done them myself. Overall, I found this kit super easy to use — though here’s a tip, google Kiara Sky videos and follow them. They make it very easy and if you take your time, you can easily get this right on the first try (the kit has written instructions too, but the videos are better in my opinion). This French Kit comes with full size bottles of bond, base, seal protect, top coat, oil and brush saver. It has 5 powders (natural, white and 3 shades of pink - all sheer). The kit also comes with the dip case and a pack of brush replacements. I was hoping the pinks were a little more opaque but what can you do. My dip is pretty thin, the way I like it! If you want to do this right, I recommend getting a package of medium grit nail files and buffers and maybe a fluffy brush for the dust. If you want to go crazy, you can also get the drill/eFile for shaping (there is a $20ish dollar one on Amazon that works well), but honestly, if you follow the videos, you can get good results with a hand file. I’ll put the links to the accessories I bought below. One more important tip - put a lot of paper towels or old towels underneath your hands! No matter how neat you think you are, this powder is very fine and you will have some on the table. Hope that helps! So easy and they look professional!
I have been trying to find an at-home nail product that will last more than a few days and still look good. I am a working mom, wife and grad student so finding the time to go to a salon is nearly impossible. The dip system is amazing! There is a bit of a learning curve, but I find even when I rush it they turn out nice. I bought the kit, the clear powder, and a few colors - now I’m obsessed. The directions that come with the box are very easy to follow and it takes me maybe an hour, start to finish. I find the clear coat really does help keep the color from fading when you are filing and buffing. I’ve noticed the better the buff, the shinier your top coat will look. You can soak them to take them off, or after about 2-3 weeks they start popping off. I haven’t noticed any damage to my nails, in fact they are much stronger than when I take off gel or acrylics from a salon. They last roughly 2-3 weeks, but I’m ready to change around the 2 week mark anyway because they grow out with your nails. I highly recommend the dip powders, you will get your moneys worth compared to going to a salon.

Better than at my salon!
I first tried dip powder nails at my salon. They used Kiara Sky products. While I liked my nails, I thought that the technician rushed the job and as it started to grow out, it didn’t look so great anymore. I thought that I could do a better job myself, so I ordered this kit. Kiara Sky has a bunch of YouTube videos showing you exactly how to use their product, as do other nail channels, so this product isn’t intimidating to use at all. I gave myself a French manicure, and it looks a million times better than anything else I have ever tried myself at home. (I imagine I will get even better with more practice!) My nails are naturally super weak and thin, but this makes my nails really strong without the bulk of regular acrylic nails. So far, I haven’t had any issues with chips or breakage. I like that I don’t need to use the UV/LED light like I would with gel polish. I have tried polishing over the nails so I don’t have to have the same look for weeks, and that worked great, too! This kit has almost everything you need to do your nails, but you will also need stuff to take care of your cuticles, and a file and buffer block to shape and smooth your nails after you dip. If you buy additional colors, you will also want to buy the clear powder so you won’t disturb the color when you buff and file. Removal of the dip nails is the same as that of gel polish, although it did take a little bit longer. Overall, I am extremely happy with this kit and am very happy with my purchase. I am really looking forward to experimenting more with this kit!

Humbling... Respect your nail tech!
I bought this after getting a dip manicure at a nail bar. The nail tech did a great job, and it looks pretty easy to do, so I started looking around to see if I could find what I needed to do it at home. This is a good deal, better than on the Kiara Sky website, and I figured after a few times it would pay for itself. I highly recommend watching a few YouTube videos to get comfortable with the process. Mine turned out... okay, but definitely not professional! I think what took the longest was shaping and filing. It's easy for things to get a little bit bumpy, and with the tools I had, smoothing it all out took awhile. That said, the process was easy and if you have a steadier hand than mine (idk what I was thinking, I can barely paint my own nails) you'll have success. A few recommended tools would be a kabuki brush or something similar, and maybe even an electric file if you're gonna make the investment!

This is the real deal!
If you can paint your nails, you can do this. My friends and co-workers thought I had gone to a nail salon! There IS a learning curve, but this kit comes with step-by-step instructions, which are written in clear English. I also found these instructions as a .pdf on the Kiara Sky website, which also has very helpful tutorial videos. They actually take the time to educate you on each step and why it’s important.) I practiced on my pinky nail until I was confident enough to do the rest of my nails. I’m right handed, in case that’s helpful to know. Yes, there are more steps involved than just straight-up painting your nails, but steps are relatively quick and easy, and so so worth the effort. My nails grow fast, and I was looking at spending about $40 every 2-3 weeks at a nail salon. This kit will pay for itself in less than three uses. The dip case for your tips is really well made. I also love supporting a domestic company. Pics are after a week of re-growth, and my nails are holding up great. I lightly buff the edges as they grow out. I used the Pure White for the tip and Medium Pink in the nail.

Gooey top coat.
So I've been using this stuff for a while now and can give a review. Instructions are easy to follow, however they don't include important information you need to prevent issues that WILL happen if you don't go online and learn about these issues first. Such as brushes hardening. VERY BIG ISSUE when you're trying to get a nice look and the brush hardens during the top coat preventing you from being able to put it on! So I highly recommend doing research before attempting to do this for the first time. I did that and it went much easier for me because I'd purchased everything I was going to need (brush, electric file, lint free wipes, tray for clear powder, clear powder). Unfortunately the base coat was stuck after 6 uses (complete sets I mean so this is a few months) and my husband broke the whole bottle opening it for me. I've been searching how to keep it from getting piled up around the neck and it's hard to find any hacks! (Finally found one that says put petroleum around before first use so I'm going to try that on my next bottle I order.) The top coat is the worst! I've tried washing my hands, rubbing the lint free wipe really really good, and the brush wouldn't harden that bad. I'd use the brush saver when it hardened (making sure to wipe the brushes). Of course this stuff is like super glue so it's horrible to wipe the brush clean! But after all of extra care I took, my top coat turned GOOEY!!! There is NOTHING online about it becoming gooey and what to do! I called Kiara Sky and she said the bottle probably wasn't closed all the way. She didn't even know! I tried to apply it anyways (it was like melted cheese lol!) but it dried in glossy little lines or patches. Filed it off and just applied a regular top coat. Ordered a new one and was so sad when the brush hardened on 2nd coat. Ugh!! Lastly, the last two times I worked on three sets of nails one after the other (you know, because everyone wants me to do their nails now), and I suffered from a horrible cough and my nose was completely stuffed I could only breathe thru my mouth. The last time I thought I was sick, but it lasted 2 days with no other symptoms. Last night I did the three sets and coughed and wheezed all night and can't breathe AT ALL thru my nose! Wish I'd seen a warning to wear a mask in a review or on their tutorials or something. I'm giving 3 stars because I feel this is average of a powder kit and probably no better or worse than the other brands. It lasts 2 weeks. Chipping occurs depending on how many layers you apply. The more layers, less likely to chip. I don't feel like I really got my money's worth since I'm already replacing bottles that were not done. I am looking at trying other brands now and they all seem to have these same issues, so this seems to be the norm for powder dips.

If you can polish your nails, you can do this.
Order arrived promptly, with no damage. Contents are exactly what I expected, with one exception. There are no instructions and apparently this is from the manufacturer. The explanation I got was that people were confused. The recommendation was for the user to go watch the videos posted at Kiara Sky's website. My issue with this: The reviewers say one thing as they are reading the instructions, but then do something else. I think the company would be better served to review and correct their instructions to include with the product. This method leaves people wide open to getting bad instructions the manufacturer may not intend and lead to incorrect usage and (shhhh!!!) liability? Also, every application out there I found was applying tips as extensions. I am only applying to natural nails. You don't apply step 1 to the artificial tips. You don't need the first 'filler' swipe of #2 and a dip, I just went straight to the 3/4 of the nail. Other than the missing instructions, the product is great!! You gotta be a special kind of not paying attention to not get 1-2-3 as the fluids are all numbered. I have only been using the natural so far to grow out, but can't wait to do the French pink/white when my nails get long enough. The product is fast and easy to use. Finishing you want a good file or block or maybe both. I didn't need power tools to finish off my edges and surface to get a smooth finish. I am looking forward to getting a few of the pigmented powders, since I get crazy when my polish chips or the free edge 'fades' and this would eliminate that problem. I will be ordering this again and I will absolutely be recommending the line to my friends.

Awesome Spa Product so much cheaper than at the salon.
I’m new to dip- but it’s quite easy to apply, I don’t enjoy the filing part, to smooth out the nail. But with practice and better tools, this will do better. I bought this, because it’s so expensive to get done at Salon, and it will pay for itself in just 2 uses—many MANY more nails left in the kit- my nails were splitting, because I have a genetic autoimmune disease which cause brittle nails, and the nails were splitting to the bed. Ive always been a fan of the French nails.. I look forward to purchasing the stamp thing in the future. And I just ordered another color, which was my first color that I got so many compliments on. You can use pretty much any powder with. Tip: I just did my mom’s nails- they were super super short! To the nail bed short. Just save yourself heart ache and add tips! Don’t worry, your nails will grow out super fast and you can get rid of them. You don’t have to get long tips, but unless you’re a pro- you will glue this stuff to your skin! ALSO- SUPER IMPORTANT: DON’T FORGET TO SEAL AND PROTECT before sanding and shaping - I forgot that step on her second hand, then after I realized I put the seal and protect on, which makes the powder/nail to harden—really hard! Otherwise it just peels off. I was able to complete the manicure without removing and starting over. I really love this product, removal is a pain, but just be patient and work the process!
