perfect for home winemaking
These specialized stoppers (with a hole for an air-valve) work equally well whether you are using 3-gallon glass jugs, or simple spring water "milk jug" like plastic gallon jugs from the grocery store. They fit either application perfectly. They are conveniently sold in sets of 3 just like the airlocks (which I HIGHLY recommend to go with them- so much cleaner than the balloon-over-the-top method which left me with syrup and fruit going up into the balloon and all over my counter!). These were amazingly effective when used together with "3 Piece Plastic Airlock (Sold in sets of 3)", and together, they did not coast much more than the baggie of balloons that they were replacing! I give them my HIGHEST recommendation for any home-brew or home wine-maker who would like a cleaner method of sealing their vessels to keep the sticky stuff and CO2 in and the oxygen out. (P.S. I can't get the product link to work for the airlock, but you should see it under the "buy together" option for this product. You definitely need them both together, not just one or the other.)

Good quality stopper
I'm using 6 gallon glass carboys and these work very well. I've made a couple batches of wine with these and there are no sealing issues (best batches we have ever made, which I doubt I would get out of a leaky stopper). I don't think this stopper is any "better" than your normal rubber stopper, but it gets the job done at a great price.

Great for the price
I decided to order the product after seeing the favorable reviews and the low cost of the product. However, I just got one stopper as opposed to the three as promised in the description. The packaging was flimsy. The delivery also took longer than promised. The one stopper I received is also damaged. Gave one star because I can't go lower than that. Edit: I received a replacement of 3 stoppers after speaking to the customer service at homebrewstuff.com. I am satisfied with the quality of the stoppers. Although they don't fit 1 gallon juice containers, they fit the 0.5 gallon containers perfectly. I have already started a grape-cranberry wine brew. Cheers!

Fits a growler!
Made my own CO2 system for my fish tank. Standard fish tubing is too small. You will need to buy some 3/8" tubing to fit in the hole. If you are building a CO2 system, here is how I did it: Fill growler with a 1/2 quart of warm water, 1.5 cups of sugar, and one packet of yeast. Cap on, shake well. Stopper in, carefully pound into bottle, then add 3/8" hose. Hose should be a few inches above the water. Route the tube into the aquarium and after a while, you will see the water start to escape the tube. That is the build up of CO2 working through the tube. By the next day you should have CO2 bubbles every few seconds or so. This system has worked well for over a week now. I plan on changing the bottle every two weeks or when the CO2 stops bubbling.

Good bung stoppers
I bought these bung stoppers for making my wines, and they fit perfectly in the tops of regular store-bought juices and milk jugs. These will not fit in 3- or 5-gallon carboys, but that's another purchase for later. They don't seem to deform from prolonged pressure of being jammed into a bottle top.

Too slippery to stay in place in 6.5 gallon glass carboy.
Maybe these might be better for smaller carboys, but unfortunately for the 6.5 gallon carboys I have they refuse to stay in place and get pushed out. There is just not enough friction to keep them in place.

Has holes in it. I didn’t expect the airlock holes to be there. I didn’t read.
Has holes in it. I didn’t expect the airlock holes to be there. I guess I didn’t read or didn’t understand what airlock meant. I meant airtight or locking out the air so somehow, my logic did not realize that these plugs had holes at the top. They are still useful just not what I was wanting. I’m just trying to plug my carboys, they are filled already

WASTE OF MONEY: No complete product dimensions in listing.
I can't find any mention of the diameter of this bung anywhere on the listing. The diameter is much less than the carboy I have which I bought from a brewing store a long time ago. Diameter of this product is the primary relevant detail and it is totally absent from this listing. Now I'm stuck with three worthless corks with holes in them.

Bought this for my brother, and he hasn't complained, and believe me, I'd hear about it if there was a problem! So I'm guessing it works well.

Not happy about these, they aren't stoppers, they have a hole in the middle so they can't hold any liquid. The holes were not shown or made clear in the pictures or description, this was a big fail for me.
