Works Beautifully
After doing a lot of research on fountain pens, the one common denominator recommended for beginners was the Lamy Safari. I was hesitant at first getting a fountain pen due to some bad experiences trying to write with one many decades ago. Being a lefty that's a sidewriter didn't help either. However, I was shocked and happy with this one. Right out of the box, it wrote so smooth and the weight felt perfect in my hand. Even for a left-hander such as myself, there was fluid movement on the paper and it moved like butter across the paper. I'm a convert now and can finally see why others prefer this writing instrument. Also, if you're just starting out, regular printer paper or even notebook paper will feather and bleed with this kind of pen. You're much better off getting some heavier weight paper mixed with cotton to get the best results. I bought a Rhodia lined page notebook to practice with, and there has been no bleed or feathering of the ink with this paper.Note: if you're having issues loading the ink cartridge or are afraid of doing it wrong and damaging your pen, check YouTube. There is a short video on the Goulet Pen Company channel demonstrating how to load this exact make and model of pen. It's not difficult but not knowing how the first time can seem daunting.

Best quality fountain pen
Caveat: the description needs to be changed because there is no free pen sleeve included with this product. Otherwise, this pen is so nice. The extra ink cartridges add value to the purchase.

Nice pen but sleeve missing
The add said that a pen sleeve would be included. I didn’t receive it. Otherwise nice pen.

Great pen
I love these pens, I have two of them, they write great and they feel great in your hand. I really like the ergonomics. My only beef with fountain pens is that they burn through ink faster than non-fountain pens, if I'm using crappy paper the ink tends to bleed through as well. but otherwise I'm a big fan of these. I tend to buy a pen and use it for way too long, so these work well for me.Update: Personally I prefer the fine nib over the medium. The medium writes more like a fine sharpie than a normal-ish pen. It's still not like huge writing, I can do cursive with it neatly, but on lesser paper it bleeds more and as you'd imagine it uses more ink. I'm not getting rid of my medium nib pen, but if you don't specifically need a larger nib I'd stick with the fine.

Read this if you aren't a Pen Connoisseur —
By no means am I familiar with high quality pens, nor do I pretend to be.With that being said, I work in an office setting and had been considering for quite some time that it would be beneficial to invest in a nice pen (not just the cheap pens that lie around the office that make my penmanship look like that of a school kid). One day as I was signing paperwork with one of my clients and he proceeds to pull out a cool looking pen that wrote exceptionally well. I had to ask him what kind of pen he carried with him. His response — "its a Lamy. I take it with me everywhere."Next thing you know, I'm ordering my first fountain pen off of Amazon and thus far I am very pleased with my investment. The pen is equipped with a blue ink cartridge, which is nice to have, but I immediately switched it to black. I'm not sure how long each cartridge is meant to last, so I will need to update this review with time. With that being said, I do use my pens pretty heavily, so I'm happy to have gone with the 5 black ink cartridges option.I see plenty of reviews from those with much more experience than I when it comes to pens.In case, like me, you are the layperson simply looking for a better pen — then take it from me.. buy the pen.

Wrong ink color sent
Ordered black pen with black ink and this is what my order shows but they sent blue ink. I am using this for art so blue ink will not work for me. Disappointed b/c this has such good ratings. The pen is already more than what I wanted to spend.

Excellent Pen!
The is the real Lamy pen - and it writes beautifully! I like the medium point version best...Watch out for fakes from China - they look the same, minus the LAMY logo on the barrel of the pen. And they're complete crap!

Such a beautiful pen!
this is the perfect addition to the writer in your life who wants to dabble in the world of fountain pens, its ergonomic grip is beautiful, and its easy to refill with cartridges, or the adaptor if one wishes to use their own ink. 10/10 highly recommend.

Everything as advertised.
It works just like it’s supposed to. I like a “fatter” pen, and it has a good feel to it. It came on time, and it does the job. I have no complaints.

Lamy Safari
Lamy is a great fountain pen. Smooth writing. Very clean looking white. Nice! Especially like that you an see if your ink is running low.

Exceptionally balanced. Well Priced. Great writing.
Very nice to write with. I am very impressed with the fountain pen.The medium nib is quite broad—I use a medium pen normally, I find the Lamy slightly more broad.I have a fine nib I will try out as well. Lamy nibs are very easy to swap out.I also bought a converter. Which is very easy to refill. The listed pen sleeve on the amazon listing did not come with my order—I contacted amazon customer support who provided me with an exceptionally balanced restitution.I have now adopted this pen as my everyday carry pen. Only using a ball point (Fisher AG7) where I know there is a chance that fountain ink is not appropriate (risk of ink run if it gets wet).I will look to get another one that I can use with a red Lamy ink for marking up work documents.
