Buy this book if you are in Medical School!
Very useful book for medical students. I use this in conjunction with books on time management, studying, memorization, etc. (I recommend Moonwalking with Einstein, The Memory Book, How to Study with Mind Maps: The Concise Learning Method for Students and Lifelong Learners (Expanded Edition), and Time Management In an Instant: 60 Ways to Make the Most of Your Day (In an Instant (Career Press))). This book alone will not suffice if you don't have the foundational study and memorization skills you need. Start in your undergrad years working on developing your memorization, note taking, time management, and study skills, and THEN this book will be a big help. It's a book, not a magic lamp, so make sure you are capable of absorbing the useful information contained within it. As the author repeatedly states, it is best if you use the book to help you develop some of your own mnemonics.I found the book easy to read, easy to search through for specific info, and quite funny. I have plenty of dull books to read already, so something that makes me chuckle is very welcome!

The book is great for review and is small enough to fit inside any purse, bag, or to just carry around.I'm giving it -1 star because inside the pages are all highlighted with hot pink or blue. I think it would be better to use a more variety of colors since its used to help study.

Many memory aids for clinicians
I got this book while studying for my Nurse Practitioner boards-- it has a lot of great little memory aids. For instance, the author has a poem to help you recall the key dermatomes (C1-C4, C5 & C6, C7, C8, T1, T4, L1, L2, L3, L5, S1, S2, S3,S4, and S5) and interpolate the rest.Although most clinicians probably know some of the mnemonics in here, there are sure to be some new ones. The book also introduces one to memorization techniques such as Location & PEG systems. It is a good brief discussion of how to use them to memorize information. A more detailed book, with a wider variety of techniques along with citations regarding how your memory works, is Your Memory : How It Works and How to Improve It-- I have that book, and like it very much. But Mnemonics and Study Tips has so many good mnemonics specifically for medicine.Be aware, however, that some of the memory aids are NOT appropriate for children.

It's a bit outdated but an interesting read
I looked through the book; I think it's geared towards doctors than nurses but I figured I can use it to help me with remembering certain thing. I asked my sister to verify or confirm certain Mnemonics since she is in med school and she did mentioned that they don't even use some of it because they are old. So I am just going to keep it for now until I get rid of it, lol.

great book
This book simplifies difficult subject matter for my daughter in nursing school. I have bought at least one for every subject she has taken.

One Star
Don't waste your time with this book. Didn't use it at all for PA school. No help at all.
