If you're in the mood for some J D Robb but not up for a full length book, this book is for you. Three short stories with all the drama and intrigue of a full-length book but much shorter.Perfect for a weekend away read.

They were good stories, well put together. I love the way Nora Roberts writes. great imagination and detail as always.

All three books were page turners. Enjoyed all three….the character of Eve as a strong detective with a solid relationship with her husband adds a little spice.

This is a reprint of 3 In Death Novellas that have been released singly and in multi author books before. However it's very handy if you haven't purchased them In any form yet. The stories are always a bit odd versus the regular books meaning Ghosts, Vampires or Satanists but one thing is always present there's a murder and our Lieutenant must solve it with the help of the ever expanding cast of the series. The great thing about this series is that every book is stand alone and complete within itself but they run in a line to make every character solid and make them matter to the reader so you are invested in their lives. All in all the In Death series is a reread anytime I'm missing family who have passed I can grab a book an snicker at the snark have my heart warm at the love and connection and feel good that by the end the "Bad Guy" has been nabbed and is surely on the way to the Big House!This book contains the first novellasInterlude In Death,Midnight In Death which is a wrap up from Holiday In Death so we "See" Eve and Roarkes' first Christmas day.Haunted In Death.

Love reading this series. I don't normally read these kinds of books, but this series is Great. And you can't beat 3 for the price of one. I have been reading out of order, whenever I pick one up, some day I hope to have them all.

I really hate buying anthologies in order to read one story by an author I like. So, I was delighted when the publisher decided to combine three of Robb's previously published stories in one volume. I usually prefer novels over short stories because stories often don't have enough time to really get going. JD Robb is a rare exception wherein her stories are on par with the full novels, mainly because the stage has already been set by the series, and it makes sense for a cop to have some cases that aren't as in depth. Each of the stories in Three in Death was excellent.Interlude in Death: Eve has to go to a police conference held off-planet on one of Roarke's resorts. She hates space travel, and loathes giving speeches so when the conference is interrupted by a murder - it's fortuitous for her, if not the victim. The culprit is easy to guess right from the start, but it is the motive that keeps Eve investigating. This story was good because sometimes good people lose their way, and it was interesting to see how Eve handled that.Midnight in Death: Christmas is interrupted by an escaped murderer previously caught by Eve. Once again, there isn't much need for investigating as Eve knows who the killer is. The suspense is built by the two of them playing a deadly game of cat and mouse against each other. Short, but engaging.Haunted in Death: This is my favorite of the three, because it pits the straight-laced Eve against something that just might be otherworldly. Do ghosts really exist? Eve is called to a murder committed with a hand gun - unheard of in her time. Moreover, another very old body is discovered at the same location - a location said to be haunted. This story was fun, and kept me guessing because the killer is not obvious.Overall, I truly enjoyed this collection and hope the publisher does the same with more of the In Death novellas. Highly recommended.

These are there books that flow with the series, but somehow separate. They are short stories as rich as all the death series. I think they were written for fun. The plots were great. Wish I could hear them on audio as my sight is poor.

As with any JD ROBB, In Death book, it delivers. Satisfaction is guaranteed. They are very graphic, and some of her scenes, are uncomfortable to deal with, because they are so true to the crime, that having been a victim of more than one type of crime, it makes me squirm.She pulls the reader so far into the story, you find yourself wanting to be the one to catch the criminal, so that you can deliver justice in a more direct way than Police&Security Dept. is allowed to do. Yes their hands are still tied, even in the future. Being a Lt., and head of her murder cop's dept. yet being married to a billionaire, ex-criminal, does not stop her from seeking true justice for the victims, although some do wonder about that. Yet nobody talks about it, that isn't suffering from jealousy, and she quickly tells them what she thinks of the. She seems no glory, or attention, doesn't feel comfortable with any of the wealthy people her husband has to deal with in his many businesses, and prays for a legitimate way to avoid his dinners, parties,etc. His butler, Summerset, is her premises, or so she claims. They pretend to hate each other, and their snide comments are, just some of the lighter moments of the series. Their are more that will crack you up, but it doesn't detract from the story in any way. If you haven't tried one of these books, treat yourself to a wonderful time and start with Naked in Death, the first one, and keep going until you have read the last one. You will not regret it.

I thoroughly enjoy all of the In Death series and can hardly wait for the next book. I think this writer is one of the best I have ever read. She is constantly surprising me with the story lines and endings to her books. I recommend all of her books, as well as her books as Nora Roberts.
