Buy it! The negative reviews are based on user error.
First, I wanted to address most of the negative comments here regarding the screen no longer functioning or the backlight is dim. This device comes with a usb-c to usb-c cable and no charging adapter. USB-c is generally higher voltage. This device uses 5v 1a. So what I suspect is happening is that the device overheats because of the extra voltage used in usb-c adapters. Also, although the device manual indicates that you can leave it plugged in all the time, it probably does not have battery bypass. The work around is to use a smart plug and charge the device intermittently. I do this for old phones to display weather, etc. by creating a routine that turns the device on and waits then off and wait again. Lithium batteries can be charged many times but it's best to keep the battery level between 20-80%. The byproduct of constant charging is heat which will damage the battery. So those things should help the longevity of this device. The internal fan will also fail if the voltage is too high. With regard to accuracy and reviews showing 2 devices side by side with different values to imply this device is inaccurate. 1) you can offset the values to match any meter you perceive as being more accurate. 2) unless the device is in a controlled environment with a pre-measured amount of particulate, you will never get an identical number-why would you when you cannot account for the accuracy of the test environment? This is why temp and humidity are seemingly more accurate. That being said this device is very reactive and accurate. I have 2 analog hygrometers, 2 fans with controllers that have hygrometers, an Amazon air quality meter, and the thermostat on the wall. I have calibrated the analog meter by using salt like wet sand in a dish in a sealed bag. The meter is accurate when it's at 75% where evaporation is equal to absorption. This meter is right on the money and the same is true with temperature. So unless you're willing to spend about $15k for a "real" commercial certified air quality meter, this is about as good as it gets with some cool other features as well. The app works well on iPhone and I was even able to install a windows 10 version. Installing the sensor is simple. Research how to calibrate PM2.5 and other values before you decide about accuracy. I would recommend this device as it is reasonably priced and works very well. Amazon had a $24 coupon so I decided to get it and I’m glad I did. Update: Customer service is exceptional. They read my review and reached out and said the sensor causes heat (you can turn off the sensor in settings) and that the battery stops charging at 100%. However, in my opinion, it’s still receiving a trickle charge and you have constant charging while discharging. I would recommend a removable battery (they could charge extra for the optional battery) or a switch to stop charging. Also, i would recommend enclosing a charger and usb-A to usb-C cable and a warning not to use a quick charger or over 5v 1A because nobody pays attention to the input voltage even though the photos have a picture of the specifications.

The most comprehensive Air Quality Monitor
+ What I like best: 1. It measures accurately a lot of environment parameters including PM2.5, PM10 (dust), carbon dioxide (to know if room is ventilated well), temperature, humidity, noise and tVOC (volatile organic compounds); 2. In case some parameters are not correct, you can easily calibrate manually or automatically; 3. It gives you options to adjust manually all the parameters in case a certain parameters drift after a long time of using; 4. It shows you all parameters in one screen so it is very convenient! 5. You can also check the app if you are not close to the monitor; 6. It has built-in battery which lasts 4-5 hours so you can bring along to check outside environment. + What I dislike: The battery doesn't last long enough so you need to charge it on time; I hope the battery can be replaceable in the next generation

Polished UI, Works as Intended, Battery Not Long Lasting and Easy to Accidentally Turn On
This is pretty much a perfect desk air quality sensor. It looks great, has a user interface polished and easier to use than many smart devices or screens, and you can easily customize the sensors on the device itself. That alone is already perfect but it actually also comes with a great companion mobile app. As sometimes the alerts on the device got annoying for me for things like CO2 which I can't solve immediately, I've turned off the alert sounds on the device and use the app for alerts instead (yes you can get alerts for your device's air quality location through your mobile app anywhere you are). My main gripe is I don't necessarily like to keep battery powered devices always on, so I like to turn the power off and turn the power switch itself off. However the device seems to be very sensitive to when I pull cables out, and often times I come back in the morning to find that the device turned itself on and ran out of battery. I now turn it off without removing the plug or turning the power socket off, but I worry about its affect on the device's battery life. I've not tested having the device run on battery often aside from when it occasionally turns itself on by accident, but since it doesn't last overnight it doesn't seem like it's that long, and you would only really use it portable by turning it on when you need it and off when you don't.

beautiful machine, questionable quality
What a disappointment. This is a very attractive device with a very clean interface, an overall clean aesthetic. It's a pleasure to interact with. We were looking forward to having this for many years to better understand our indoor air quality, but it failed in less than a week. Based on other reviews, which I should have considered first, this company needs to up its quality control and build to last. This is the nicest looking monitor I found on the market, and the readings seem accurate, but what good is that if it's not reliable. Ours seems to have been a power management issue as it started to turn off randomly. At first we could get it to turn on by unplugging it and plugging it back in, and finally would not turn on at all, all in the period of a week. Fortunately it was returnable through Amazon so I don't know if they have good customer service or if they would have fixed it. I want to buy another one but not worth the risk.

Amazing insights on what is happening (I was suffocating myself by closing door and/or windows. Now both stay open). And it does not require an account to use.
