Once assembled, is the bottom smooth? I just want to make sure it won't scratch my floor.

I actually had to check since our ottoman is kept on our area rug. I ran my hand over the entire bottom of the ottoman and felt nothing that should be a concern for your floor. We're happy with it, wasn't sure how sturdy it was going to be since it is designed to fold away but has held up well! Hope this helps
