Nikwax Tech Wash

I have 2 waterproof jackets and a pair of DC snowboard pants. I used to wash my one jacket with detergent all the time.. and it was no longer waterproof. I thought the washing caused it. Then with my softshell jacket.. I sweated in it a few times and stunk up the armpits. I didn't want to wet the whole jacket, so I handwashed the armpit section with detergent a few times. The smell always came back. I thought I was out of luck since I didn't want to throw it in the wash and ruin it with detergent. Luckily a girl at Mount Brighton suggested Nikwax. This stuff is magical. My jackets are back to being awesome! Even all the dark stains on my snowboard pants are gone. They look like new. One bottle only works for 2 washes. Definitely worth it. The science is true. Detergent clogs the pores in the jacket just as bad as dirt. My snow clothes are basically brand new again. A+

Water absorption is not a feature I look for in a rain jacket, but mine now has it. Followed the instructions to a T, but now it performs worse.

Hard to imagine that Nikwax does not have the instructions on their labels...you have to go online to find what and how...

I used this to wash my synthetic sleeping bag after I got poison ivy on a camping trip. It was one of the 2 products recommended by Big Agnes to wash their bags. Bag came out of the wash looking and smelling good. No poison ivy either, so I guess it washed out what oils may have ended up in the bag.

Washed two Seattle Sombreros and one Snoqualmie Sombrero in this in the washer on a short, gentle cycle, and was delighted to see water beading up on the hats when the machine stopped. Shook off the water and laid the hats on a rack to dry. No water spots!

Used this on my Dainese Textile Jacket. Put it all in a warm bucket of water than used a sponge and lightly scrubbed all the dirt/dead bug guts etc out of my jacket. Worked like a charm and didn't weaken the textile at all. Great product

The change I observed in the appearance of my jacket after using the wash in Tech Wash was wonderful. One cycle through the machine and my older Burton jacket had a like new appearance. No leftover residue or harsh chemicals to worry about. This product exceeded my expectations.
