We have over 20 hens and these pads make the nesting boxes so clean and comfortable for them. We have noticed a huge improvement overall with the eggs being so much cleaner, and the coop itself being cleaner. They fluff them up, do their egg laying and they are easy to shake out any poo that is there, and last a good long while for us. We used straw before and the girls just did not like it, they always chucked it out onto the floor of the coop. Now the nesting boxes look marvelous and we have very happy layers. They are very thin with the excelsior and the hens have dug clear through it and the paper backing in one day, which defeats the padding of laid eggs property immediately. Many of the mats in the stack are stuck together with adhesive, or the paper backing hasn't been fully cut apart.
