This was a perfect replacement, works better than when the mower was new in 2015. Very happy!!

easy to install and $200 cheaper than Sears parts direct
Pretty fast shipping(free) and over $200 cheaper than on the Craftsman website. They both come from GT (General transmissions) There are only two basic transmissions, one for pedal shift and one for fender handle shift. RS800 F (fender handle) and RS800 P (pedal shift). Easy install and so far, so good. These are known for the axle seal leaking, but knock on wood I have not had that problem.

Works Like New Again
The old Transaxle P/N 580486301 in my 2015 Craftsman T2200 with 19 HP Briggs & Stratton engine would not go into forward or reverse after 6 years of use. Troubleshooting revealed dirt and debris got into the shifting linkage and then it broke internally inside the transaxle assembly. The plastic transaxle assembly is sealed, not serviceable and completely un-repairable. A new riding lawn mower costs $2200. This replacement transaxle P/N 587884501 costs $519.89 plus tax. Transaxle improvements include a cooling fan, improved wheel bearings and an improved linkage cover to keep out lawn debris. The Transaxle replacement was easy and it works like new again. Remember to remove the shipping pin before transaxle installation. I'm very happy with this purchase.

Very happy with purchase!
This replacement was a perfect fit for my Craftsman T2400 riding mower. Only took a couple of hours to change it out considering this was the first time doing this. Another set of hands would have helped. Also this was an affordable replacement especially when a new mower would cost over a couple grand. Very happy with this purchase.

Don't forget to remove packing clip
put it in an it worked fine, I have a 2015 Craftsman 2400 mower with the fender shift, new transaxle comes with a clip you must remove for it to work, found out the hard way, you will need a new tooth washer for the shift linkage, I ordered a kit. Took me about an hour to replace, if I did it again, I could do it in about ten minutes. Would have been nice to have a helper.
