### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 200- 540 nm od6
*by T***W on April 5, 2024*

I am another who got these for blue blocking. For most people melatonin disruption occurs in the 200- 510 range. Light volume is also a factor. I am on the spectrum and EXTREMELY sensitive to many things, I have probably a dozen or more glasses like these. Yellow daytime glasses of various strengths for screentime and led lighting. You not want to block more daytime blue (nm bandwidth) than is causing you issues, as your daytime signals are very important. Oranges of varying darkness and nm range and reds of a few shades for extra sensitive nights and bright lighting. You only need to filter as much as your system needs, and I have them for different situations. These glasses are a nighttime strength and a slightly darker view than spectra and popular brands, including NoBlue which is darker view than the others, while they are all rated for the 200-510nm range. Not everybody is, but I am also sensitive a good way into the green range, which is about where these stop. I can still make out a few blues, but I know better than screaming “they dont work” like so many reviewers sometimes do on the subject. Nearly all of them will have a few small 2-5 nm wide spikes that dont filter as well, and do not show on most spectograms because of the narrow nm range, and the light brightness in the spectogram used is not always disclosed. It is more standardized in laser glasses given the dangers. You WILL encounter these colors on occasion, and its not as big a deal as most assume. You are still blocking 99% of what you need to. There are also perception tricks, as most will begin to leak in a teal looking range, that is actually a green color being perceived as blues. Trust me, Ive had them all, and even custom Noir at a heavy price point. Beware using complimentary (to blue) colors like Y, O & R that are not rated by spectogram! I have done it a lot in the past, and many SEEM to do an ok job, but dont fully cover enough of the spectrum with TOO many spikes that are too wide, and mess me up even though I thought i was covered and did not itch or burn (very bad indicator for melatonin range but fine for yellow daytime glasses) for example, many reds still leak a great deal of uv and lower end blues, even though the view is nearly monochromatic red (yet many pass uvb up to 410 or so). For a while I was being cheap and handy by cutting (to same size as primary lens and then attaching over) broken hinge uvex to cover the low end, in reds and some deeper oranges. Diy double lens is not the way to go. Get something rated. Uvex scratches easy too. Something that covers just enough of your range without darkening view, so youre less likely to peek, and negate them. I have darker ones for going into super lit areas. Another good workaround are red or darker clip on flip ups on top of the range you need in lower light or your own area of the house, and just flip them down when going into the spotlight sorta speak. Very few may need these heavier type solutions, but those who do may likely look here, so I will share my troubles and experiences. Laser glasses are a good solution, because once you understand the VLT and OD ratings, you can have your spectrum covered, but in multiple darkness levels to suit various environments. Light volume has an effect, and higher OD will work better in extreme lighting. A filter CAN be overloaded, just like oil pressure or air filters. This is exactly why laser glasses are OD rated, as lasers have way more serious ramifications than led lighting, and you may not get a second chance. I like these ones, they are my go to in most situations. The lens view is dimly lit amber orange but not too dark for me. the camera lighting in photos is just blue heavy making the lens seem red in some photos. There is no nose piece to lose, as they are molded in the frame. There are holes in the earpieces for the supplied neck tether if desired. If most blueblockers are too bright a view, try noblue, if that is too bright, these are a tad dimmer. If thats not dark enough move up in OD. My pair is a grey frame and not black as pictured, but the ratings are on the lens at eyebrow level (some places will not let you use your own unless rating is stamped on them) and match exactly. I have a fairly small head and the glasses do stay on and not move around, and do leak a tad at the gap by the temples (they will likely fit up to lg bordering xl) but not much, not in direct view (so not an issue) and probably helps provide some anti fog ventilation- I transition hot cold/indoor outdoor often. Hard case and lenscloth a bonus, but no cloth bag, which I tend to use more since I have many and sometimes travel with a small variety (day and 2 darkness levels of night). Like Insaid, I am on the spectrum and extra sensitive to many things. For your average person looking for a slightly darker blueblocker that has a known rating, these will definitely fit the bill.
